It’s been reported this morning that Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is on life-support after collapsing following “a cocktail of drink and drugs” which he took while on a binge.
The Sun reports that 30 year old Blake was found choking in bed after a booze and drugs session, in which it’s alleged he also took heroin. He was rushed to hospital in Dewsbury, West Yorks, where he was diagnosed with multiple organ failure.
Blake’s partner, Sarah Aspin – who has a 15 month old son by the singer – told of her anguish last night as he lay in a coma.
She said, “The doctors say they don’t know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection.
“I’m praying he’ll survive, but I’m having to prepare myself that he may never wake up.”
Blake was rushed to intensive care days after the first anniversary of Amy’s death. He’d been on an afternoon boozing session with a friend after meeting with probation officials following his release from a jail term…
Medics have warned Sarah that if Blake survives, they can’t rule out permanent brain damage. He was still critically ill last night.
In infinitely happier news, TV presenter Fearne Cotton is expecting her first child with boyfriend Jesse Wood.
Radio One host Fearne made the announcement last night in a blog, writing, “Some lovely news. Jesse and I are very happy to announce we are having a baby.
“We are over the moon, morning sickness aside (me, not Jess) and looking forward to the little Cotton Wood’s arrival.”
Jesse, who’s the son of Rolling Stones legend Ronnie, has been dating Fearne for almost a year.

Finally today, it’s been revealed that former EastEnders star Martin Kemp is going into the Celebrity Big Brother house on August 15th.
The line-up also includes former Corrie star Julie Goodyear, Simon Cowell’s ex Jasmine Lennard, comic Julian Clary, ex-EastEnder Cheryl Fergison, Page 3 babe Rhian Sugden and rapper MC Harvey.
Dog The Bounty Hunter star Duane Chapman is also set to appear, but as yet, he hasn’t been granted a visa to enter the UK due to his previous criminal convictions.
