Plus Ali lashes out, believing David is the father of Rachel’s baby in Emmerdale
We’ll begin today’s soapy news and spoilers over in Coronation Street, where unlucky in love Eva Price is about to be ditched by yet another bloke!
As fans will know, after Nick Tilsley ditched Eva in order to resume his romance with Leanne Barlow, she started up a relationship with newcomer Rob Donovan, however, when he tells her he doesn’t want to date her anymore, she left heartbroken once again.
A Coronation Street insider told the Daily Star, “Eva arrived on the cobbles after her fiancé cheated on her and she hasn’t had much luck at all with the fellas of Weatherfield.
“She fell for Nick in a big way but her paranoia actually cost her that relationship.
“Eva was hoping things with Rob might work out and she is gutted when they don’t.
“She feels humiliated all over again and she just can’t understand why she has such bad luck when it comes to the men in her life…
“Rob was ideal for her because he had both charm and power. She needed someone like him after her disappointing relationship with Nick.
“Rob made her feel good so she is set to hit an all-time low when he ends it.
“She really starts to wonder what is wrong with her.
“She’s one of those girls who needs a man in her life and won’t stop until she gets one.”
We’lll see Rob telling Eva that their relationship is over a week on Thursday.
Over to EastEnders now, where the shocking news that Ben Mitchell murdered Heather Trott is about to spread round the Square like wildfire, as is the revelation that Ben’s dad Phil and foster brother Jay helped him cover up his crime.
And as you can see from the picture on the right, when Patrick corners Jay – who’s hiding out at the allotments – he can’t contain his fury over the fact that Jay knew who’d killed Heather all along.
An EastEnders insider said, “It all comes out that Ben killed Heather, which leads to a lot of fingers being pointed towards Phil and Jay.
“Shirley leaves them all to it as she can’t believe how they could cover up such a terrible crime, so Jay is left with just Phil for guidance.
“He decides he can’t face everyone and finds sanctuary in one of the sheds.
“But, as everything starts to sink in, Patrick turns up and he has nowhere to hide.
“It’s going to be a really tough time for Jay over the next few weeks and you wouldn’t blame Shirley for never forgiving him for keeping it all quiet.”
EastEnders airs the dramatic scenes between Jay and Patrick a week tomorrow.
Finally, over in Emmerdale, Rachel’s sister Ali is about to get the wrong end of the stick when she concludes that David Metcalfe – who’s being very considerate and kind to preggers Rachel – must be the father of Rachel’s baby.
He isn’t of course, Jai Sharma is, but nobody except Rachel and Jai know the truth.
However, the news that Rachel is pregnant becomes the subject of village gossip later this month when her former brother-in-law Dan questions why she’s only drinking water at the pub, before blurting out that she must be pregnant.
Dan and Charity then make things even worse by quizzing her about who the father is, which results in her leaving The Woolpack upset.
The Daily Star adds, “The next day, Ali notices that good-natured David is being particularly sympathetic towards Rachel after hearing her news.
“This leaves Ali convinced that David is the father, so she later rages at him in the pub in front of everyone.”
We’ll see all that drama on Tuesday, August 21 at 7pm on ITV1.
