BBC boss apologises for Jubilee coverage again and blames weather

The BBC has again apologised for its questionable coverage of the Diamond Jubilee earlier this year and placed blame on the weather.

New BBC chief George Entwistle was heavily criticised for his role in the coverage, which was widely slated by both the public and various celebrities.

“I would be happy to add my apologies to those already articulated by BBC people, particularly about the factual mistakes we made,” Entwistle told the Today programme.

“One of the key things for the essence of the BBC is to get its facts straight. We were genuinely thrown out of our stride by the weather.”
