And see the first ever episode of Emmerdale Farm from 1972!
As fans of Emmerdale will of course know, the soap reaches its landmark 40th anniversary on the 16th October – the show originally aired on that date back in 1972, when it was called, Emmerdale Farm.
And today, ITV have released the first promo clip for the hour-long live episode that will air as part of the week of special shows.
Here it is…
And as we reported recently, a “major and well loved” character – who I have a sneaky feeling may be Betty – will be murdered during the live episode, and though the show’s bosses and cast are determined that we won’t find out who the victim will be ahead of the drama, Adam Thomas, who plays Adam Barton, has been talking about the plotline…
He said, “Without a shadow of a doubt we’ll miss this person – of course.
“When someone does leave, it’s definitely a big thing for us because we all work so closely on Emmerdale and we all have
so many scenes together.”
And of the live broadcast, Adam said, “It’s definitely going to be nerve-wracking, but once we’ve done it, we’re all going to be so proud that we’ve pulled something off that’s as spectacular as this episode is going to be.
“It’s just going to be momentous afterwards. It’s definitely worth it. I’ve got about one line – they don’t trust me!”
Finally, we recently brought you part one of the cast of the show playing ’40 Or Faulty’ and today, we have another one.
Here are both clips…
The big week of drama starts on Monday 15th October, but for now, here’s a look back at the very first episode of Emmerdale…
