#ooitsawkward as Emmerdale’s Jai Sharma bumps into Nikhil at maternity hospital & Maria Connor turns Marcus Dent straight in Corrie?!

Plus, Jay and Abi heart each other again. Ahhh….

We’ll begin today’s soapy news and goss over at Emmerdale, where Jai Sharma has some seriously fast talking to do when he bumps into his brother Nikhil at the maternity hospital!

The storyline begins when Jai wants to be there for Rachel’s first ultrasound scan, however, it soon transpires that when it looks like Gennie might have gone into labour way too early, Nikhil rushes Gennie to hospital…

But luckily, it turns out she’s fine and was just having Braxton Hicks contractions, however, when Nikhil spots Jai, he of course wants to know why his childless big bro is hanging out at a maternity ward.

However, Jai’s used to thinking fast and he says that their dad Rishi told him what had happened with Gennie, and he says he’s there merely to check that everything’s ok.

Meanwhile though, poor Rachel’s anxiously waiting for Jai…

A show insider told the Daily Star, “Jai really wants to be a part of his baby’s life.

“Charity made it clear to him she didn’t want any more children so this is his only chance at fatherhood.

“It may not be the best situation but he wants to be there for Rachel’s scan.

“Nikhil and Gennie turning up at the same time complicates things and it looks like he may well miss out on seeing his baby for the first time.”

We’ll see all that hoohar a week on Tuesday.

Over in Corrie though, there’s a very surprising turn of events going on with Maria Connor and Marcus Dent – who are of course sometimes fag hag and confirmed homosexual respectively – which will see them share a passionate kiss!

It all begins when Maria’s terrified after discovering a lump in her breast. So she confides in BFF Marcus who immediately takes control and gets her a doctor’s appointment.

The doctor of course sends her to hospital to see a specialist, and all the while, Marcus is doing his I’m A Rock thing, and Maria’s very grateful for it…

So grateful in fact, she feels the need to kiss him, and dun dun dun! He kisses her back! And it’s not one of those thank you kisses; there’s tongues and everything!

A Corrie insider said, “Marcus and Maria have become so close these last few months.

“They are best friends and have been there for each other through so much already.

“Marcus tries to encourage her about the future and tells her everything will be fine. But even he is scared at the thought of losing her.

“His feelings until now have been ones of friendship but he is about to get a little confused.

“He loves her like a friend and is gay.

“There’s never been any question about them having a relationship but things may well get a little muddled over the next few weeks as they come to terms with what Maria is facing.

“There’s also the small matter of Maria’s boyfriend Jason Grimshaw, so it’s going to be a very emotional time for her.”

Well, rumour has it that in fact, Marcus WILL embark on a relationship with Maria, and she’ll ditch Jason for her midwife new beau. We’ll keep you posted on that of course!

Finally, in EastEnders, Jay and Abi are about to become an item again now that she’s forgiven him for his part in covering up the fact that Ben Mitchell murdered Heather Trott.

But of course, poor Lola’s fallen for Jay, so it’s not good news for her.

Explaining how the young lovers reunite, an insider said, “Abi has a run-in with a local girl gang. They pick on her and rough her up a little bit.

“She’s left shaken by the ordeal and without hesitation she runs to find Jay. The whole thing just makes her realise how much she loves him.

“And when he promises to always protect her they end up kissing.

“Abi will always be the one for Jay but her parents are going to take some convincing again.

“It took them months to accept their relationship and with him having helped to cover up Hev’s murder it’s not going to be easy.

“There’s also his blossoming relationship with single mum Lola Pearce.”

We’ll see those scenes a week on Friday on BBC1, but I’m curious to know if you guys are interested in the younger cast members’ storylines on ‘Enders?

I know a lot of people aren’t, and I have to say, I’m less interested in them than I am in the older peeps’ lives.
