8 simple rules
give it up (10/28)

Continuing today is the comedy series centring around the Hennessy family, starring the late John Ritter as family patriarch Paul and Katey Sagal as mum Cate.

When Cate goes back to work, Paul stays at home to raise their teenage daughters Bridget and Kerry, and son Rory. Paul soon feels overwhelmed with the task and begins to write a regular column called ‘8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter’. The rules include “Bring her home late, there’s no next date” and “Only delivery men honk –dates ring the doorbell... once!”

In today’s episode, the Hennessy family are finding it impossible to agree on where to go on holiday. Paul wants to go to the cabin on the lake, but Cate wants to take the family to visit her parents in Sarasota. Bridget fancies the Mall of America, while Rory votes for astronaut camp and Kerry just wants to stay at home.

Paul comes up with a creative way of making the decision, announcing that everyone in the family has to give up their bad habits for a week – whoever succeeds gets to choose the holiday destination. Can Cate give up coffee? Will Bridget be able to survive without the phone? Can Rory stop being a tell-tale, Paul give up the TV remote and Kerry drop the sarcasm? It can’t be long before someone breaks...
