Continuing today is the successful comedy series centring around the Hennessy family, starring the late John Ritter as family patriarch Paul and Katey Sagal as mum Cate.

When Cate goes back to work full-time, Paul stays at home to raise their teenage daughters Bridget and Kerry, and son Rory. Paul soon feels overwhelmed with the task and, drawing on his days as a sports writer, begins to write a regular column called ‘8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter’. The rules include “Bring her home late, there’s no next date” and “Only delivery men honk –dates ring the doorbell... once!”

In today’s episode, Bridget and Kerry clash over an opening on the cheerleading squad when a spot becomes available. Bridget informs her sister that she does not have what it takes to be a cheerleader –only to be gobsmacked when Kerry wins a place on the team. Meanwhile, Paul faces an uphill battle to get Rory interested in books instead of computer games.
