8 simple rules
wall of shame (2/28)

Continuing today is this successful comedy about the Hennessy family, starring the late John Ritter (‘Three’s Company’) as family patriarch Paul, and Katey Sagal (‘Married... with Children’, ‘Futurama’) as mum Cate.

When Cate goes back to work full-time, Paul takes on the role of raising their teenage daughters, Bridget (Kaley Cuoco, ‘Charmed’) and Kerry (Amy Davidson), and son Rory. Paul soon feels overwhelmed and, drawing on his days as a sports writer, begins to write a regular column based on the concept: 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter. The rules include “Bring her home late, there’s no next date” and “Only delivery men honk. Dates ring the doorbell. Once.” Later in the series, James Garner (‘The Rockford Files’, ‘Maverick’) makes an appearance as Cate’s cantankerous dad, Jim.

In today’s episode, Paul’s hopes of watching a football game on TV are dented when he has to keep an eye on the kids. Before long, Kerry is at loggerheads with her father over her latest cause –the plight of circus animals –and Bridget is accused of shoplifting at the local pharmacy.
