Only five girls remain in the running to be crowned American Princess. The craft of afternoon tea is the subject of this week's first lesson. The girls learn how to make perfect sandwiches and pretty cakes under the expertise of the head chef at London's exclusive Berkley Hotel. Paul Burrell, one of the show's experts, steps in to show the wannabe princesses how to make a flawless cup of tea, something he has down to perfection from his years of butler service to Princess Diana.

The girls are tested on their newly-learned culinary skills along with their abilities in the game of croquet when they host a tea party. Among the guests is HRH Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, Catherine Oxenburg's mother. The girl who is triumphant in the afternoon's challenge enjoys a day viewing world class tennis.

For the second challenge of the week the girls are taught how to play a typically English activity - cricket. The coach of the England Women's Cricket Team gives them a lesson in the sport, preparing the girls for the following day where they play against some of the members of her team. The setting for the day's match is the stunning Shenley Cricket Centre in Hertfordshire. But there's still a bigger competition here as one girl will be leaving behind her princess training by the end of the day's activities.

Saturday 16 February 2008 8:15pm - 9:15pm on ITV2.
