angels of jarm
it was him! (7/40)
Continuing on Milkshake! today is the colourful animation set in the fictional town of Jarm. The action takes place in a playgroup populated by young children of various different skin colours, religions and backgrounds. When the children encounter everyday problems –like fights over toys or prayers –an angel comes down from the clouds to help, travelling via the rainbow-coloured Celestial Highway. A host of familiar voices can be heard throughout the series, as the Milkshake! presenters lend their vocal talents to the characters.
The Angels –Ellie, Mick and Rafe –live in a silver bullet caravan above a cloud with their leader, Gabrielle. Sharing attributes from different faiths, the Angels live in harmony and know exactly what to do to prevent conflict in the Jarm playgroup.
With a multi-faith focus on morality, the series covers every aspect of life, emphasizing that diversity and difference are to be welcomed. Each episode is packed with stories, songs and fun!
When things start to go missing from the playgroup in today’s episode, Ephraim gets the blame. He is too scared to defend himself but the angels discover that he is innocent. Angel Ellie is sent to Jarm to persuade the real culprit to confess.
Tomorrow’s episode, ‘Fate’, finds Wendy praying that she will be chosen to be Book Monitor. She cannot understand it when her prayer is not answered, but Angel Rafe arrives to teach Wendy that all things happen for a reason.
Tuesday’s episode is ‘Penny’s Cakes’. Penny bakes some cakes and swaps them for things with her friends, but Dharma has nothing to offer in exchange and is not allowed a cake. Angel Mick arrives to show Penny how mean she is being.
In ‘Special Meal’, on Wednesday, the other children refuse to eat their lunches when they learn that Ephraim gets special food. Angel Ellie uses a song about burgers to show them that all their meals are special in some way.
Thursday’s episode is ‘Dad’s Day Out’. Aaron’s dad is to join the children on a school trip, but Aaron is worried that his father will embarrass him. Angel Rafe arrives and shows Aaron’s old man a magical way to win his son’s respect...
Rounding off the week’s episodes on Fridayis ‘Honesty is the Best Policy’. Virgil gets the blame when his basketball breaks a vase. The angels discover that it was really Wendy’s fault, so Angel Mick uses his own basketball skills to teach her the value of honesty.
