Sadly, it was a story that came to a crashing end; a disastrous divorce followed with a tabloid frenzy, dragging the royal family through mud and undermining its authority with the public. The Snowdons’ was the first royal divorce for over 400 years. At the time Princess Margaret was blamed. This documentary reveals a very different story: Tony’s character and behaviour destroyed the marriage.

Plus Angela Griffin and her family help Gordon cook stir-fried duck in lettuce cups, saffron bream and peppers and summer berry mille-feuilles.

Based on the extensive diaries and photographs kept by Arthur Munby and his maid, Hannah Cullwick, this dramatised documentary provides a rare glimpse of forbidden desires played out in secret, and looks at the powerful sexual taboos exerted by the English class system.
