But when he falls for his teacher Rosemary Cross (Olivia Williams), things get messy and are further complicated when he finds out that she is having an affair with the rich parent of two of the school brats, Herman Blume (Bill Murray), who happens to be Max’s hero and mentor.

In the same mould as Scary Movie and Meet the Spartans , Aaron Seltzer’s comedy spoofs almost every romcom ever made, from My Big Fat Greek Wedding via When Harry Met Sally to Meet the Fockers with slices of Kill Bill and King Kong thrown in for good measure. Alyson Hannigan plays Julia Jones, a waitress who falls for Grant Funkyerdoder (Adam Campbell) but she must convince her parents she can marry outside her Greek/ African/ American/ Indian/ Japanese heritage.

Thursday, June 18 on F4

The Coen Brothers’ classic comedy stars Nicolas Cage as H I McDunnough, a small time crook who has spent more time inside than out. Determined to go straight, he marries the police department’s official photographer Edwina (Holly Hunter) and the two set up home. But she can’t conceive and, in desperation, they steal one of magnate Nathan Arizona’s (Trey Wilson) quintuplets, on the principle he won’t miss one. But when Arizona discovers he’s a baby short, he assigns both the FBI and bounty hunter Tex Cobb (Leonard Smalls) to the case, and the couple’s only hope is to flee into the desert in search of freedom.

Jared Hess’s comedy stars Jack Black as Brother Ignacio, a monk in a destitute Mexican monastery who is distressed by the poor food he must cook for the orphans. He decides the only way to make money to feed them properly is to become a lucha libre wrestler (the immensely popular Mexican “sport” where masked wrestlers battle it out for fame and fortune).

Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn) owns Average Joe’s Gym, a scruffy establishment with a loyal clientele, while across the street Globo Gym, owned by White Goodman (Ben Stiller), is all glass and chrome and full of toned muscle. When Peter learns that he must pay the bank $50,000 in 30 days, White is overjoyed: now he can have the parking lot his gym’s always needed. But Peter decides to set up a money-earning dodgeball tournament (a sport that consists of not being hit by the opposing team’s balls) to earn the dough and it is, of course, his team of misfits against White’s tough pros in the final.

Mike Judge’s comedy thriller stars Ron Livingston as Peter Gibbons, who works for Initech Corp and hates his job and his cubicle almost as much as he fears being jobless. But an epiphany with an occupational therapist sees him marked out as management material. Just as he’s going for promotion, however, his two friends Michael Bolton (David Herman) and Samir (Ajay Naidu) are being downsized. But Michael has developed a software, based on an idea from Superman III , that could make them all rich for life. What could possibly go wrong?

After Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin , this was the Farrelly brothers’ breakthrough movie, an all-round laugh-out-loud comedy of bad taste leavened by stand-out performances from a top-notch cast. Ben Stiller plays high school geek Ted, invited to the prom by the gorgeous Mary (Cameron Diaz). He can hardly believe his luck; but the night goes wrong when he arrives to pick up his date, and has a painful accident in the toilet, failing to stow his tackle before zipping up. Thirteen years later Ted still yearns for what might have been and hires private dick Pat Healy (Matt Dillon) to find Mary.

Friday, June 12 on F4

Ben Stiller directs and stars in this satire on the fashion industry as the eponymous Zoolander, an air-head male model who’s eclipsed by the equally vacuous Hansel (Owen Wilson). But fashion designer Mugatu (Will Ferrell) has plans for the ex-model; he’s going to turn him into an international assassin.
