This week’s top film is the cult adventure tale
directed by Richard Donner (‘Superman’, ‘Lethal
Weapon’) and adapted from a Steven Spielberg
story by ‘Gremlins’ scribe and ‘Harry Potter’
director Chris Colombus.
When a group of inquisitive kids (including ‘No
Country for Old Men’ star Josh Brolin, making his
big-screen debut) find an old map in the attic, they
embark on a zany adventure into an underground
cavern in search of lost treasure.
The talented young cast includes Sean Astin
(‘The Lord of the Rings’), Corey Feldman (‘The
Lost Boys’), Martha Plimpton (‘Running on
Empty’) and Ke Huy Quan (‘Indiana Jones and the
Temple of Doom’).

Victoria. Two elderly brothers attempt to do away
with each other with the aim of claiming a massive
inheritance. Comic chaos ensues as the pair try
everything to become the sole surviving beneficiary.

the film features an all-star cast including Ralph
Richardson, John Mills and Michael Caine.

Bogarde. When a fairground fortune-teller is
murdered, the policeman investigating the case
finds his job made harder when he encounters five
radically different views of the victim from people
who knew her. He slowly strips away the veils of
illusion to discover the truth about the woman and
the identity of her killer.
Keenen Ivory Wayans directs his brothers Marlon
and Shawn in this zany comedy. Two disgraced
FBI agents are intent on catching a devious
millionaire, but in order to carry out their mission,
the pair must disguise themselves as ignorant
white female socialites.

prosecutor who believes she has witnessed a
murder. When a medical examiner starts to dig
around, his suspicions lead him to a famous
doctor who claims to be able to make infertile

dodgy doctor’s operating theatre…
Thriller starring Mel Gibson as a drug dealer who is
forced into a confrontation with a childhood friend
(Kurt Russell), now a cop bent on closing down his
operation. The dealer is ready to quit his business
but is under pressure to keep his family in the style
to which they are accustomed. At the same, the
rivalry between the two men is brought to a head
by the appearance of a beautiful restaurateur
(Michelle Pfeiffer).

believed to have been killed by a terrifying hound
