Fearne and Beth Ditto

In the third episode of the series Fearne sets out to discover if the things she has heard about Beth Ditto are true ” is she really the rebellious, squirrel-eating, shoplifting, overweight lesbian of popular myth?

As Fearne is kept waiting at their first two meetings, the presenter is unsure she is going to be a huge fan of Beth’s, but, as they head stateside to the singer’s hometown she relaxes and opens up and the pair start to get on well together.

On her way to meet her at a German rock festival, Fearne explains that she plans to get to the bottom of the stories she has heard about Beth. She says: “I’m off to meet Beth Ditto for the first time. I’ve never met her. I have no idea what on earth to expect. All I have heard about Beth Ditto is that she’s a major exhibitionist, so I’m really looking forward to finding out whether the outrageous front woman we see in the media is the same one I’ll meet.”

Their relationship does not get off to a great start when Fearne arrives to meet Beth and discovers she is still asleep on her tour bus. After being kept waiting for five hours, Fearne finally gets to meet the singer just minutes before she is due on stage.

Beth doesn’t seem phased by her upcoming performance and, as she takes to the stage and strips her dress off, Fearne sees more evidence of her wild-child image.

After her performance Beth takes five minutes to talk to Fearne about her partner and how she’d like to get married and settle down, but, midway through the conversation, she dashes back to the stage to gatecrash 30 Seconds To Mars’s act. Grabbing a nearby sweeping brush, Beth heads onto the stage to attempt to sweep them off.

Fearne says: “Just a minute ago Beth had been telling me how she was ready to settle down, but, seeing her attempt to sweep 30 Seconds To Mars off the stage made me think she was nowhere near ready to hang up her rock chick boots.”

At the end of her first whirlwind meeting with Fearne, Beth apologies to her for keeping her waiting.

Hoping their next meeting will be more successful, Fearne arranges to meet Beth at a photo shoot. Things get off to a good start and Fearne sits in with Beth while she has her make-up done. But, before long, Beth’s manager asks Fearne to leave the room and she is once again left waiting outside until the end of the day.

Fearne is unsure what kind of reception she will get when she heads off to Beth’s hometown of Oregon, but the atmosphere is more relaxed for Beth at home and she soon opens up. As they go shopping for outrageous clothes and singing in a lesbian karaoke bar, Beth talks frankly to Fearne and reveals the shocking truth about the shoplifting rumours.

SERIES FOUR: Ep 1

High society and low blows are back as Gossip Girl continues for its much-anticipated fourth season. Last season ended with a bang as a heartbroken Chuck Bass (series star ED WESTWICK) lay bleeding in the streets of Prague while Blair Waldorf (series star LEIGHTON MEESTER) and a newly single Serena van der Woodsen (series star BLAKE LIVELY) jetted off to Paris for a fabulous summer abroad.

Meanwhile, Nate Archibald (series star CHACE CRAWFORD), fresh off his painful breakup with Serena, decided to take a page out of Chuck’s playboy playbook just as Dan Humphrey (series star PENN BADGLEY) discovered he was going to have to settle down and be a father.

Season four kicks off in the City of Lights ” Paris! Blair has spent a fabulous summer in Paris without realizing Chuck, her former love, has been shot. Yet as much as Blair tries to distract herself from the pain Chuck caused her by sleeping with Jenny Humphrey (series star TAYLOR MOMSEN), his mysterious appearance in Paris with a beautiful new woman (recurring guest star CLÉMENCE POÉSY ” upcoming 127 Hours, In Bruges, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) will force both of them to face what happened. Serena has been enjoying a Parisian summer of love with boys, Blair and Balenciaga as she tries to avoid the inevitable decision about which of her two longtime beaus, Dan or Nate, she should return to.

Meanwhile, back on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, Nate meets an intriguing girl, Juliet (recurring guest star KATIE CASSIDY – Melrose Place, Supernatural), who helps him realize that his summer of sexual conquests was his way of avoiding his unresolved feelings for Serena. Plus, Dan’s baby mama drama continues with Georgina (recurring guest star MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG ” Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and the van der Woodsen apartment is buzzing with activity as a “Fashion’s Night Out” event is planned.

Also starring in the series are JESSICA SZOHR as Vanessa Abrams, KELLY RUTHERFORD as Lily van der Woodsen and MATTHEW SETTLE as Rufus Humphrey.

This access-all-areas series follows the five feisty members of girl band The Saturdays as they work hard and play even harder and you’re about to see them as you’ve never seen them before…

Nothing is off-limits as the girls talk about their love-lives, celebrity-life, cellulite and what it’s like to be in the fashion magazines every week, as well as trying to control the 9 untrained dogs they own who are adept at having ‘accidents’ at the most inappropriate times!

In the last episode of the series, the girls head to LA to record their new video ” get ready for chaos!

After a mad dash through the airport and after nearly missing their flight, the girls touch down in LA to hoards of paps.

As well as recording their new video in a mocked-up New York Street, the girls chat with the legendary blogger Perez Hilton, have a (disastrous!) go at rollerblading on Venice Beach and Rochelle has a surprise visitor ” her boyfriend Marvin from JLS. Add to that a spot of shopping, cruising in a convertible and sunbathing before one Saturday has a drastic change in hairstyle and two others decide to get piercings!

Perez Hilton

In episode two, Fearne travels to Miami, Toronto and back to London to get the low down on celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton.

Perez was born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. to Cuban parents in Miami, where he still lives with his mum and sister. He has used the name Perez Hilton to carve himself a career out of blogging about the world’s celebrities. He shows Fearne around the family’s quirky home and the little office at the back of the house which he uses to do his daily blogs.

Perez’s mum explains to Fearne that she is proud of her son and thinks he’s amazing but doesn’t get involved with his job and refuses to read his blogs. As Fearne gets this rare insight into Perez’s world, she questions whether or not he remains Perez at home, or reverts back to being Mario.

Out on the celebrity circuit, Fearne goes with Perez to the Much Music awards in Toronto. The awards, which are being presented by Miley Cyrus, come days after a press backlash in the US against Perez after he published pictures taken up Miley’s skirt on his website. As she films with him, Fearne is wondering if Perez and Miley will come face to face.

In LA, Perez reveals to Fearne the secrets behind celebrities’ relationships with the paparazzi. He tells the presenter that celebrities regularly phone the photographers to tell them where they are going to ensure that they get spotted. To demonstrate, Perez rings a photographer and tells him where he and Fearne are having lunch. As the photographer arrives, he advises Fearne on where to sit so that the photographer can get the best shot of her outfit. Afterwards, the photographer admits to Fearne that one A-list actress regularly tells him where she is and he splits the profit from the photographs with her.

In his usual outrageous style, Perez tells Fearne that he can’t stand Christina Aguilera. As the pair head to London’s Gay Pride festival, Perez says he believes X-factor winner Joe McElderry is gay. At the time of filming Fearne and… Joe had not confirmed his sexuality. Fearne questions Perez to see if he feels guilty for hinting about people’s sexuality on his site, and making them feel pressure to come out.
