It's nearly 10:30am in the Big Brother house and the housemates are all asleep. For this weeks shopping task the housemates must attend Big Brothers Finishing Academy. In order to win a luxury shopping budget the housemates must pass a series of challenges intended to improve ones etiquette, table manners, deportment and elocution.
When Big Brother wakes the housemates up they amazed to see that the house is now full of posh furniture. Brian and Sam bounce on one of the couches until Carole tells them off.
All the housemates are on the couches and have been give attire to wear for the duration of the task. The look like a group of old people. A video plays and Liz Brewer presents a list of all the things they are going to learn and then once they've learnt them, they will have to put them into practice. The housemates are told that there is some behaviour in the house that proves that their manners are slipping. They see Liam spitting up into his cup, Tracey licking a knife and Brian taking his weight to one side and letting one rip.
Speech and pronunciation needs to be addressed, particularly swearing. The housemates have to repeat the following phrases which must replace the swear words they have been using: Whoopsie daisy, Crikey, Golly Gosh, Whoops, Balderdash. No words must be shortened. Av'it must now be Have It etc. You can just hear Tracey messing this task up and constantly saying "Whoopsie Daisy". They are given a guide to help them out.
The twins talk to Kara-Louise about her school where they weren't allowed to wear makeup or jewellry. They can't believe that they were told what they were or weren't allowed to wear, like headbands.
Carole announces that Big Brother has ended the punishment regarding the cooking and cleaning.
Sam and Amanda are at the bath doing some cleaning when her microphone falls off and into the water. Amanda is annoyed because it wont clip onto the stupid clothes Big Brother has given her. She blows into it and prays that the camera people can still hear her. Wouldn't that be the sound people?
Amanda is called to the diary room while Carole talks to Tracey. Tracey is annoyed with the task because it seems that it's directed at her. In the diary room, Big Brother asks Amanda if she wakes up in the morning and thinks up inventive ways to damage her microphone or if she just makes them up as she goes along. Amanda thinks that it was mean and it just doesn't like her. This is her twelveth microphone that she's had replaced. Big Brother asks her to think about a punishment and get back to him. She suggests not wearing any pink.
The first challenge is here and it is elocution. The housemates get a number of phrases and the twins are freaked out when Carole and Liam know what they are and say them along with Liz. How now brown cow, In Hertford, Hereford and Hampshire, hurricanes hardly happen. They need to practice their sentences. Tracey isn't doing too badly but Brian is struggling with his pronunciation and elocution.
Brian is out in the garden with Jonty. Brian says that the task is going to be 'ard. He always drops his H's when he speaks. Inside, Tracey is also struggling. Kara reassures her that she's not stupid. All the practicing is doing her head in and she's really worried that she's going to fail. She lies down in the caravan and has a cry.
Brian seems to be doing better with Liam and Ziggy being taught by Jonty. Tracey is adamant she can't do it and doesn't want to try. Carole tries to talk her into it but it's all the other stuff that is compiling. Ziggy tells her to try it with Jonty because he's ace. Kara-Louise also tries to help her out. Tracey is all full of excuses.
Brian has his elocution test and is all very proper. He gets a few things wrong but it's hilarious hearing him speaking with thought.
Brian and Tracey are in the caravan talking about how 'ard the task is. Tracey says that the more that they push her to do the task, the more she wont.
Tracey has her turn and she struggles with the big words. Amanda and Sam, Brian and Tracey fail their elocution test meaning the housemates have failed this part of the shopping task.
Brian is in the diary room saying he entered the house quite a down to earth boy and doesn't want to leave an arrogant meat head. He's scared that he's letting the house change him. He just wants to be a nice person.
Jonty is talking to Liam, Sam and Amanda about whether they would be turned off if their boyfriend or girlfriend told them that they were bisexual. The twins say they would be. Liam tells a story about being with a girl who was bisexual but was offended when he suggested a threesome.
As part of the task, the housemates need to learn to ballroom dance and need to pair up. Sam and Amanda pick Liam to dance with. Carole chooses Jonty. Kara-Louise picks Ziggy which leaves Tracey and Brian.
Tracey is in the diary room talking about Gerry telling Brian not to trust her. She is worried his comments will affect her time in the house.
Ziggy, Liam and Brian talk about Carole and how argumentative she has been.
Kara-Louise and the twins and are planning a special introduction for Mr Spankmeister when Amanda is called to the diary room. Big Brother has given Amanda a loud haler which she has to speak through when ever she wants to speak to someone because she's damaged 12 microphones.
Amanda comes out and tells the housemates why she has a loud haler but is laughing hysteically as she speaks because it's so loud. Everyone is laughing and Brian is screaming NO!
Amanda goes to the diary room while the others are in bed and says she's been punished enough because the loud haler keeps feeding back.
Amanda goes to the bathroom to brush her teeth and Big Brother follows her around with the cameras. She goes up to one of them with the loud haler and asks what he wants but the microphone isn't working. She bangs it with her hand to make it work but toothpaste flicks into her face. She tells Big Brother that he's not funny and that she dislikes him.
