This November, Sky1 HD promises to have you glued to your TV sets as the channel makes its launch into daytime television. Following the start of ANGELA & FRIENDS on Monday 9 November, ex Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones will present a great new and innovative quiz show called SELL ME THE ANSWER.

The stakes are high in this game of all or nothing that packs a powerful punch. This fast-paced and fresh quiz show will leave you wondering just who you can trust when everyone is out for themselves.

SELL ME THE ANSWER will see contestants working alongside a 60 strong- pool of ‘Traders’ as they attempt to win up to £25,000 in prize money.  Every episode Gethin will ask the contestant up to ten questions, each worth an increasing amount of cash. If the contestant does not know the answer they are invited to shout out to the ‘Traders’ to “Sell me the answer!”

Get set to find out whether Britons are still a nation of prudes or can’t wait to get nude in revealing Sky1 documentary NAKED BRITAIN. This three part series strips Britain bare and dissects its attitudes to nudity. Psychologists Jack Lewis and Anjula Mutanda will travel up and down the country on a mission to find out if Britannia lives up to her prudish reputation: does the birthday suit trigger bouts of blushing, or has this stereotype gone stale?

Sky1 HD today (Tuesday 20 October, 2009) announced further details on one of its two brand new sporting panel show pilots.

CPL Productions will produce A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN (w/t 1x30) where England’s Number One fan and Gavin & Stacey star JAMES CORDEN will referee proceedings. The brand new format will see Ashes hero and Nottingham Forest fan STUART BROAD and former England footballer and Sky Sports presenter JAMIE REDKNAPP line up as team captains.

On October 15, brand new comedy sitcom MODERN FAMILY will find its home on Sky1 HD and Sky1. From the Emmy® award-winning writers of Frasier, the mockumentary style series centres around three very different American family units who are being followed by a film crew. It quickly becomes apparent that they are anything but the husband + wife + 2.4 children.

The pilot episode has already garnered considerable critical acclaim in the US: USA Today called it “smart, funny and well-cast”, Variety named it “one of the best comedy pilots in a long time” and Time Magazine found it “the funniest new family comedy of the year…very, very funny”. Plus, it has already attracted a big name guest star in the shape of Edward Norton, who will play a band bassist in an episode later in the year.

MODERN FAMILY will take an honest and funny look at the complications that come with being a family in 2009 and features:

Lightman heads up a private agency contracted by the FBI, local police, law firms, corporations and private individuals when they've hit a roadblock on their searches for the truth. Kelli Williams (The Practice) stars as Dr. Gillian Foster, a gifted psychologist and Lightman's professional partner. Brendan Hines (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Monica Raymund (Law and Order SVU) also star as Lightman's lead researcher Eli Loker and the newest recruit Ria Torres respectively. Loker is so uncomfortable with the human tendency to lie that he practices "radical honesty," meaning he says everything on his mind at all times. Torres, on the other hand, is one of the few "naturals" in the field of deception detection.

Created by Hart Hanson and inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist and best-selling novelist Kathy Reichs, BONES follows forensic anthropologist Dr Temperance Brennan (Deschanel) and FBI Agent Seeley Booth’s (Boreanaz) work at the Jeffersonian institute solving crimes when the bodies are so badly decomposed, burned or destroyed that only the victim’s bones can provide clues to their fate.

With a sizzling chemistry that sets the screen alight, Brennan, with her scientific acumen, and Booth, with his former Army sniper training and people-smarts, make the perfect team, but as season five begins their relationship faces a number of new challenges. After suffering with hallucinations at the end of season four, Booth was diagnosed with a brain tumour requiring urgent surgery, during which he had a vivid dream in which he and Brennan were married and ran a nightclub. On waking from surgery Booth’s memory has been badly affected and he doesn’t know who Brennan is.

Sky1 HD revealed today a truly international line up of hot dance talent that make up the judging panel for new dance contest JUST DANCE. Ashley Banjo (Diversity – winners of Britain’s Got Talent 2009), Adam Garcia (Coyote Ugly, West End star and founding member of Tap Dogs) and Kimberly Wyatt (Pussycat Dolls) are the team charged with finding the nation's next dance superstars

Ashley Banjo, choreographer and dancer from Diversity – the street crew who wowed Britain’s Got Talent audiences earlier this year and ultimately won the competition – knows exactly how it feels to be a dancer with big dreams. He says: "No one knows better than me how a contest like this can discover raw talent and open up fantastic opportunities. It's a thrill to be on the other side of the desk this time and I'm so excited about discovering some fresh, new, original dancers.”

With a first season that covered everything from rapidly ageing newborns to a man with the ability to manipulate electricity, concluded by a huge revelation that a parallel universe existed, FRINGE quickly established itself as a smart, creative and wonderfully weird drama. Now, the boundaries of the bizarre will be pushed even further as the critically acclaimed series returns for its second season this October 4 on Sky1 HD and Sky1.

Arriving on Sky1 HD earlier this year, HOUSE has cemented itself as a firm favourite with the channel’s viewers. Packed full of sarcastic witticisms from the eponymous grouchy yet genius medic, season five saw Dr Gregory House (Laurie) continue to unravel the most unusual of medical complaints (ruling out lupus each time); but a turning point came when team member Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn) took his own life. As House struggled with his feelings about the suicide, his addiction to pain medication began to spiral out of control. Soon he was hallucinating about conversations with the deceased Amber (Anne Dudek) and as the series built to its finale a drug induced episode led House to hallucinate he had a passionate sexual encounter with love interest and sparring partner Dr Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). As the season concluded, Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) took House to a psychiatric institution.

On October 21, NCIS: LOS ANGELES, starring Chris O’Donnell (Circle of Friends, Grey’s Anatomy) and LL Cool J (House, 30 Rock) will make its debut on Sky1 HD and Sky1. The drama comes to Sky1 HD following a huge debut in the US, where it attracted a record number of viewers.

NCIS: LOS ANGELES is the first spin off from the popular NCIS, and follows Special Agent G Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and his partner Sam Hanna (LL Cool J,). The series is a drama about the high stakes world of the Office of Special Projects (OSP), a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation's security. By assuming false identities and utilizing the most advanced technology, Callen and Sam along with their team of highly trained agents go deep undercover, putting their lives on the line in the field to bring down their targets.

Put the kettle on, sit back and relax with Angela and Friends this November – a brand new live daytime chat show hosted by Angela Griffin on Sky1 HD and Sky1, launching Monday 9th November 2009. Opinionated, aspirational and bold, each day Angela and Friends will get to grips with the latest showbiz stories, lifestyle trends and viewer comments, as well as welcoming celebrity guests to the studio in a live 90 minute show.

Joining Angela each day will be her three co-presenting friends, on a rotating cycle. Confirmed names so far include Sara Cox, Duncan James, Lisa Faulkner, Jeremy Edwards, Zöe Salmon, Jayne Middlemiss, Amanda Lamb and Nancy Sorrell, each bringing a distinctly different dynamic to the small screen as they scour newspapers, magazines and websites for a variety of attention-grabbing headlines before gearing up to have their say on the subject in lively debate.

In FOOTBALL BEHIND BARS, starting Monday 7th September at 10pm, exclusive to Sky1 HD and Sky1, former professional footballer and young offender Ian Wright is on a personal mission to try and break this cycle.

UK BORDER FORCE returns to Sky1 HD revealing new challenges faced by the staff on the front line of immigration control and providing viewers with a fascinating insight into a typically unseen world. The second series of UK BORDER FORCE comprises ten one hour episodes and will start on Sky1 HD and Sky 1 on Monday 7th September at 9pm.

As well as revisiting personnel at Heathrow Terminal 3 and Calais, series two of UK BORDER FORCE will introduce viewers to new faces in the UK Border Agency’s teams across the country in offices such as Portsmouth and Glasgow, as well as abroad. The cameras also travel to Lagos to show how undercover officers must stop Nigerians trying to board flights to the UK on fake passports, risking their lives on a daily basis.

Sky1’s all-singing, all-dancing School Musical series is back! Following on from the success of last year’s HAIRSPRAY: THE SCHOOL MUSICAL, the series is set to return to Sky1 and Sky1 HD with new host Duncan James taking on the challenge of staging hit West End musical Grease. Will this year’s school be able to pull off the production of their lives?

Last year's show saw ordinary secondary school pupils spend their summer holidays working with some of the best names in musical theatre to become Hairspray's Nicest Kids In Town at London's Apollo Theatre. Now, another set of students will be given the chance to tread the boards as they perform their version of the smash hit musical Grease.

FUTURAMA, the quick-witted animation from the mastermind behind The Simpsons, makes a much anticipated television return on Sunday 30th August at 6pm only on Sky1.

Set in the 31st century, Matt Groening’s FUTURAMA is sci-fi comedy at its very best.   Billy West voices Fry, the 20th century pizza delivery boy who awoke in the year 3000.  Katey Sagal voices Leela, the sexy cyclops who captains the Planet Express ship and is the object of Fry’s affections; and John DiMaggio voices Bender, the crude, rude alcohol-fueled robot.  As the Planet Express crew explore New New York City and the universe beyond, the latest FUTURAMA episodes promise to be as spectacularly silly as ever.
