X Factor 2010: News & Gossip Round Up

It’s being reported today that X Factor judge Cheryl Cole will be granted a “quickie divorce” from Ashley Cole today.

According to various media outlets, Cheryl’s divorce appeal will be heard at London’s High Court Family Division today, where Judge Christopher Simmonds is expected to grant the divorce, "under the special procedure rule".

I wonder if Derek Hough’s going to become husband number 2? If he does, let’s hope he stays faithful to her!

In other news – which is Britain’s Got Talent news too – Simon Cowell won’t have to face the prospect of being sued by a former BGT hopeful since her appeal in court has failed.

Ultimate Big Brother: New housemate going in tonight after double eviction!

It’s just been revealed by Channel 4 that following tonight’s double eviction, there’s to be a new housemate going into the UBB house.

The identity of the new HM hasn’t as yet been revealed, but it’s been widely speculated that it could be Pete Burns or Alex Reid.

However, some other sources have suggested that Sam Pepper may go back in, and that the mystery HM could be Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace.

I so hope it’s not her… I couldn’t stand her first time round!

In other news, Makosi had to spend time with Anthony Hutton yesterday when BB bosses brought him into the house for a “romantic picnic” with her.

The uncomfortable picnic got off to a dodgy moment when Makosi joked, "We must have a swim, shall we? But I don't have my bikini."

X Factor 2010 News & Gossip Round Up

It’s being reported today that guest judge Katy Perry has been offered the role of full-time judge on the US X Factor panel.

The Daily Mirror reports that Katy has been offered a contract with the show that’ll land her around $340,000 per week.

A show insider told the paper, "Simon [Cowell] wants to get the judging names signed, sealed and announced within six weeks.

“He wants at least one massive American star, someone who is known globally, plus one Brit and at least one authoritative male.

"Katy was thrilled, especially by the package which is said to be a $340,000-a-show deal."

And it seems that Simon’s keen to secure more “big names” from the music industry for the judging panel.

EastEnders News & Gossip Round Up

Former EastEnders actress, Hannah Waterman, has revealed that she and her ex-husband Ricky Groves – who played Gary Hobbs on the show – do still speak, despite press rumours to the contrary.

In an interview for New magazine, Hannah said, "We do talk to each other, and we do have a bit of decorum for each other.

“It's the best way to be.

“We're not tearing each other's eyes out and we are being grown up about it.

"I saw him yesterday, in fact. It's really sad, as you don't get married to then split up. But, eight months on, and I'm in a better place than I was."

Hannah also took the opportunity to reiterate that the couple’s split was nothing to do with Hannah’s weight loss.

Natalie J Robb, who of course plays Moira Barton on the show, has revealed that she’d love for her character to have an affair with Declan!

Declan (Jason Merrells) is of course Natasha Wylde’s on-off boyfriend, but Natalie reckons that if Moira were to ever attempt to get even with hubby John for his kiss with Eve, it’d be Declan that she’d choose to do it with.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Natalie said, "I'd love it if I could actually pick who Moira had a fling with!

“At the moment, I think I'd have to go for Declan - he's quite like John in that manly way.

"Moira likes a fella who's stronger than she is. But I'm sure Declan's got plenty of choice in the village, so Moira probably wouldn't get a look in."

Ultimate Big Brother: Nadia says she’s a bitch, and Michelle thinks Ulrika should go

Over the last 24 hours, tensions have been rising in the house, especially with news of the nominations. And in an unusual moment of friendliness, Nadia and Makosi had a frank conversation in the garden.

As the pair were lying in the sun, Nadia said, “I’m tired.”

Makosi asked if she didn’t sleep well, but Nadia replied, “No, I'm tired from being a bitch.

“I wish I wasn't... but I am. There's nothing else to do…

“You become observational with people and the things that annoy you the most.”

Makosi then asked, “What's annoying you?” to which Nadia replied, “I don't know. It's just my competitive streak.”

Could it be that the two adversaries are forming a bond??

First up in our N&G round up is that Sir Ian McKellen has revealed that he’d love to reprise his guest role as Mel Hutchwright on the show.

Sir Ian first played the part of Mel in 2005, but though he’s stated he’d like to see Mel back on the Street, he doesn’t think it’s likely that he will be.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Sir Ian joked, "I'm discarded dross. I'm a screwed-up piece of paper in the bin.

“My character rather discredited himself so he couldn't possibly return.

"But Corrie did become like a family to me, and I'm still in regular correspondence with a number of them.

“I was made to feel so welcome by everyone there.

"The campaign to bring back shifty Mel starts here!"

X Factor 2010: Simon says “prostitute” will not be axed from the show, plus Alex Burke a “diva”?

A report in The Sun recently claimed that an X Factor hopeful, Chloe Mafia, was working as a “£160 per hour prostitute” but Simon Cowell says that she won’t necessarily be axed from the show.

After the report surfaced, it seems that some viewers suggested Chloe – who’s audition hasn’t yet been aired – should be dropped by the show…

However, Simon told the paper that as long as Chloe “isn’t working” while she’s on the X Factor, it shouldn’t make any difference to her staying in the contest.

He said, "We haven't banned prostitutes. I think you'd want to show the story if we're allowed.

“I want to see the story.

"We can't just take people off the show because they might do something that upsets some people.

X Factor 2010: Simon Cowell said to be “furious” at contestants’ behaviour

A report in the Daily Mirror today claims that Simon Cowell is “furious” with some of the X Factor contestants for “partying” in the villa he’d hired, and for ruining several items of furniture.

Simon took the contestants to the villa in Marbella as part of the Judges Houses round, at a whopping cost of £15,000 per night.

But it seems that on Sunday, the hopefuls got “carried away in the 20 bed villa – largely by the copious amounts of booze they found – and caused damage to antique furniture and a rug.

A show insider told the paper, "Cowell was far from impressed…

“He certainly won't be holding back on the harsh comments.

Big Brother 11: SIX housemates facing eviction! Plus, Nadia collapses... well, her chair does

Yes, you read right, there are no less than six housemates facing the chop from the Ultimate BB house this week.

The nominated housemates are, Chantelle, Makosi, Nadia, Nick, Nikki and Ulrika.

I want Makosi to go; I didn’t like her first time round, and I don’t like her any better this time! All she’s done is moan, bitch and cry, and apropos of bitching, she’s aimed a goodly amount of that in Ulrika’s direction…

Will Stacey Slater die in the Queen Vic fire??

On Thursday, we’ll see that the much awaited Queen Vic fire takes a hold, trapping Stacey and baby Lily in the upstairs flat…

It all begins when Stacey goes to the Vic to confess to Peggy that she murdered Archie. She also confesses the same to Ryan, but meanwhile, in the bar, Phil tells Peggy that he knows she loves the pub more than she loves him…

“Go on, deny it!” he yells, and when Peggy hesitates, he drops the match onto the accelerant he’s already doused the place with.

Stacey runs upstairs to get Lily, but by the time she has, the stairs are full of smoke and the flames spreading out of control.

Ryan meanwhile has a ladder which he climbs up to the flat’s window to take Lily from Stacey.

UK Soaps News & Gossip Round Up

We’ll start our look at what’s going on in the top UK soaps with EastEnders actress Melissa Suffield…

Melissa, who plays Lucy Beale, has of course been very publicly axed from the show following accusations from the show’s bosses that she wasn’t conducting herself in a manner befitting an EastEnders cast member…

And during an interview with Reveal magazine, Melissa – who will be replaced by another actress in the role of Lucy – explained that she felt her dismissal from the show was unfair.

She said, "It's not like I was going out, punching photographers and being sick in a gutter.

“I'm only doing what every other girl of 17 does. "It's not an excuse, but out of all the things Lucy has done, the only one I've done is drink underage.

The much hyped and anticipated Queen Vic fire is set to light up our screens next week…

It all begins when Peggy tries to keep Phil locked up in the pub to stop him taking any more drugs.

But Phil being Phil, he doesn’t take too kindly to being told what to do, and deprived of booze and drugs, so in a bid to escape – and exact revenge on Peggy – he starts the fire in the living area of the Vic…

Peggy had thought that Phil was bluffing and wouldn’t set the put alight, but she thought very wrong!

The fire scenes are broadcast on Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC1, and in addition this week, Sam gives birth, but just as Peggy thinks she’s going to get to play granny again, Sam makes the shock announcement that she’s putting the baby up for adoption.

It’s being reported today that Simon Cowell has enraged the father of X Factor hopeful Annastasia Baker…

In Saturday’s show, we saw Annastasia – who has tried out for the show before, but was eliminated in the Judges House round – begin to sing Proud Mary before being told to stop by Simon…

He then told her that he’s "seen trannies do better versions” of the track.

And despite the fact that Annastasia was put through to Boot Camp, her dad Ian Baker told the Daily Mirror how Simon’s words has angered him.

He told the paper, "Simon used some harsh words. I don't think what was said was fair.

"Annastasia spent a lot of money on her image and had poured time and effort into it.

EastEnders News & Gossip Round Up

‘Enders star Gillian Wright – who plays Jean Slater – has revealed that she thinks her character shares a “unique” relationship with her daughter Stacey.

Stacey, who’s played by Lacey Turner, is making her exit from the show later this year, as is Gillian, and Gillian told Inside Soap that she’s preparing to say her goodbyes to the show.

But on the subject of Jean and Stacey’s relationship, Gillian said, "[Jean’s] relationship with Stacey is unique.

“Not just because they both live with bipolar disorder, either.

"There's a clot of comedy and they really care for each other. It's all a bit strange at times, but there's a huge amount of love as well."
