The Adventures of Bottle Top Bill and His Best Friend Corky: Ship Mates

The popular preschool animation continues. The show aims to stimulate children’s imaginations by encouraging them to use everyday materials to create their own characters and fantasy worlds. Each story centres on the easy-going Bottle Top Bill and his friendly horse Corky (voiced by Miranda Richardson), who embark on numerous adventures full of fun, danger and mischief.

In Saturday’s episode, ‘Ship Mates’, a storm causes all kinds of trouble at the seaside. Not only does it make a mess of the beach, it also sends Captain Hornswoggle’s ship onto some rocks and disorientates a whale! With the help of a parrot, Bill and Corky set out to rescue the stranded seaman and the marooned marine mammal.

SGU: Stargate Universe Coming to Sky1

This October, Sky1 and Sky1 HD are set to launch the new addition to the popular Stargate brand, SGU: STARGATE UNIVERSE. Executive produced and written by the franchise’s founders Brad Wright and Robert Cooper, the series will take on a dynamic new direction, promising be edgier in tone and appealing to longtime Stargate fans and first-time viewers alike.

Robert Cooper commented: “We looked really hard at what we loved about Stargate and what we thought the fans really loved. SGU is darker and grittier, but at its core, it really is still Stargate. It’s contemporary; it’s the people from here and now in these fantastic situations. It’s not all going to be depressing and dark!”

Law & Order: Criminal Intent: Flipped

Continuing this week is the sixth season of the ‘Law & Order’ spin-off following New York’s Major Case Squad. This week, a rapper is gunned down in the street and witnesses to the crime start to go missing. Logan and Wheeler must overcome a conspiracy of silence in the community and tangle with an unreliable undercover agent in a bid to find the killer.

Pressure is on the Major Case Squad this week when a rapper named Fulla T is shot dead in the street. Fulla T was backing a public campaign to encourage people to testify in criminal cases – and may have been killed for his efforts. “He was advocating snitching?” enquires a surprised Logan. The chief of detectives is less than pleased when the mayor orders that Major Case handle the investigation. “Be prepared to hit a wall of silence,” Ross tells his detectives.
