doctor who20135Doctor Who will officially return or an eighth season, it has been confirmed.

The BBC announced the news over the weekend, stating that Brian Minchin will be joining Steven Moffat as executive producer of the series.

A blog post on the official website confirmed that Moffat was “already plotting a brand new run of adventures for the Doctor”.

Steven Moffat had promised a little something for Doctor Who fans following the season finale if they kept their mouths shut regarding spoilers and he has stuck to his word.

After last week’s accidental early release of the season finale in the US via Blu-ray, Moffat took to Twitter to ask fans to keep the spoiler to themselves and aid he would release a video as a thank you.

The video is that of Matt Smith and David Tennant discussing the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special.

TheFallNew Gillian Anderson drama The Fall has become the biggest drama series launch in eight years on BBC Two.

The series won its slot and opened with an average audience of 3.5M and 15.4% share, peaking at 3.6M, making it the highest drama series launch on the channel since Rome in 2005. It also beat the BBC Two slot average of 1.79m (7.4%) for the past 12 months.

Starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, The Fall is a gripping psychological thriller that forensically examines the lives of two hunters. One is a serial killer who stalks his victims at random in and around Belfast and the other is a talented female Detective Superintendent on secondment from the MET who is brought in to catch him.
