The Sun is reporting today that Vinnie Jones has allegedly been offered $1mn to go into the Big Brother house for this, the final year.
His rival Paul Gascoigne will – according to the paper – be one of the contestants. A spokeswoman for the show is quoted in the paper as saying that, “as usual, potential housemates' names were not being confirmed or denied.”
The paper also quotes a friend of Vinnie’s as saying: "He was planning to take January off - but one million dollars for three weeks' work was difficult to turn down."
And it seems that Davina McCall has cancelled her plan to spend one night in the Celebrity Big Brother house because her husband Matthew apparently asked her not to. Apparently Davina was keen to stay over in the house as this is the last year of the show, but Matthew doesn't want to "share her” with TV viewers “any more than he does already” states the paper.
Davina said, "It was funny, because I said to the producers, 'Can I go in, can I go in just for a night? Just to go and hang out,' and then I ran home to Matthew and I went, 'Oh my God I might be allowed to go in for a night,' and Matthew went, 'No, I don't want you to go in for a night,' and I was like, 'Why not?' thinking it was the most exciting thing ever, and he went, 'But it's the one bit I don't have to share of you'.
"Because I'm always talking about him ad infinitum in interviews and I always say too much and poor Matthew has to put up with a lot from me.
“And he said, it's the one bit I don't have to share, you sleeping, so I'd rather you didn't. So I'm not going to. He's dreamy, what can I say.
"But I might pop in you never know."
Davina also said that she hopes none of the previous BB contestants are sent back into the house for the final celebrity show.
When asked if it was likely, she said, "I hope not. I honestly don't know but it's never the same, people going back.
“As my granny used to say about going back with ex-boyfriends, 'Reheated soup is never as good'."
