Carmella goes into premature labour. Darren’s
Miranda’s bid for the house hits a snag. Zeke
shocks Karl with a terrible truth.
As her due date draws near, Carmella sets about
making a birth plan that includes the two men in
her life – her current suitor, Marco, and the father
of her child, Oliver. However, it would seem that
Carmella has less time to plan than she expected,
as she is suddenly hit by painful contractions and
goes into premature labour. She is rushed to
hospital, where it becomes clear that the baby is
in distress. Carmella’s dream of a natural birth is
shattered when doctors perform an emergency
C-section. The baby girl is rushed to intensive
care with breathing difficulties, and a distraught
Carmella refuses to leave her side. As the baby
battles to survive, Carmella starts to blame herself
for her daughter’s condition. She decides to focus
all her energy on her child, and duly banishes
Marco from her life. Elsewhere in Ramsay Street, Libby and Darren
announce their return to Shepparton. Realising
he could lose her all over again, Darren has
decided not to tell Libby about the kiss he shared
with Janae. However, Ned finds it harder to keep
Darren’s secret when Miranda becomes the latest
person to find out about the kiss. Ned has
promised Darren he will keep quiet about the
matter because he knows it will not happen
again, but Miranda cannot help feeling guilty
about lying to Susan and Libby. When Libby talks
excitedly about her future with Darren, Ned
realises they must protect her from the truth – but
will Darren’s secret stay under wraps?
The Parkers have problems of their own this
week when their bid to buy the Timmins house
runs into trouble. Janae swallows her pride and
encourages Ned to share the mortgage with
Steve and Miranda. However, they are dismayed
when a rival buyer turns up to inspect the
property and announces that he wants to build
three townhouses on the site. The Parkers realise
they cannot allow someone to ruin the street in
such a way, so they go back to the drawing board
to try and find a way to beat him.
Also this week, Karl is shocked when Zeke tells
him that he does not feel like part of the Kennedy
family. Elle is afraid that Riley is about to confess
his true feelings for her. Bridget admits that she is
still attracted to Declan. Ringo tries to carry out
Jessica’s last wish, and the Erinsborough teens
gather together to give their friend the farewell
she would have wanted.
