In the wake of his sudden collapse, Lou is rushed to hospital, where Karl diagnoses him with an anxiety attack. Harold is overcome with guilt and candidly tells Lou what their friendship means to him. At first, it seems Lou cannot swallow his pride and admit just how much Harold’s plan to leave Erinsborough is affecting him. But later, when Steve and Miranda help him see that he still has friends in Ramsay Street, Lou finds it within himself to give Harold’s trip his blessing. Harold promptly agrees to sell his house to Marco and Carmella, who are desperate to set up home together with Chloe. But when Harold realises just how deeply Lou is hurting, he is plunged into a quandary. Should he renege on his deal with Marco? And can he live with himself if he does?
Meanwhile, Paul is getting himself deeper into trouble as he attempts to bribe Kirsten to keep their fling secret from Rebecca. Kirsten regards the money as a degrading insult and alarms Paul further by seeming to make friends with Rebecca. A desperate Paul is stunned when Kirsten finally names the price of her silence – she wants to learn all the tricks of the trade from Paul and make herself a successful businesswoman. Paul is forced to agree to her terms and appoints her trainee manager at Lassiter’s. However, his immediate efforts to undermine her role and force her to quit backfire, and Kirsten makes it clear to Paul that he cannot shake her off so easily...
Affairs of the heart are troubling some of Ramsay Street’s other residents this week. Toadie’s heartbreak over Steph is affecting his work at the law firm, prompting Rosie’s concern. Toadie then surprises everybody by turning up at football training – but his repressed rage gets the better of him and he accidentally knocks Daniel out when they both dive for the ball. Daniel follows in Lou’s footsteps and ends up in hospital with concussion. Libby, meanwhile, surprises everybody with the strength of her feelings when she berates Toadie for his actions. Is she holding a torch for Daniel? As the pair ponder their feelings, Daniel eventually decides to take the bull by the horns and ask Lib out on a date.
Also this week, Rebecca and Elle team up in an effort to lift the lid on Mayor Jackie Jones’s dodgy dealings.
