- T J Dowds said: The Seven Ages of Britain is, I believe sponsored by the Open University and it must be that they have historians check the contents for accuracy. Which leads me to the awkward conclusion that there is either sloppy monitoring or a failure of historical knowledge among those responsible for putting the material on air. Britain did not exist until after 1603, hence there was no "Tudor Britain", nor was there such an entity as Britain at any time after the Roman occupation of the southern part of the island until the succession to the English throne of James VI of Scots. Yet the name Britain/ British has been applied to artefacts from this very period. It may be that the producers have fallen prey to the malaise of confusing England and Britain that so bedevils many correspondents, but it is not what is expected from even a poor historian. The lack of historical rigour displayed in this programme would lead me to question the value of a history qualifacation that was endorsed by such "historians."
- adeski said: It was a cracking Question Time! Carol just didn't let up. Dimbleby had to keep on butting in telling the panel not to speak over each other (i.e. *Carol* banging on and on every 2 mins). I think she realised she'd overdone it when the chap with the goatie and glasses said something along the lines of "..those of us who thought you were a nice person". She seemed a bit put out by that.

- Bee said: They tested average humans as well as average chimps. To compare with Ai, they tested Ben, an expert known for his memory. Ai won, and the average chimps had a higher percentage of right answers compared the the average humans. As far as chimps being more clever than humans, I think cleverness is like beauty- in the eye of the beholder :)

This is simply, what in the old days, would be called malingering. The show was good, but they aren't really helping David any by allowing him to get away with this. Interesting how he only loses certain memories. It's also intereting how he locked his keys and wallet in his friends trunk. Gee, this was so planned, it's ridiculous. If it was a true memory loss he'd never have done that. He has come up with perfect way to avoid responsiblity for his behaviour and is using the show to try to land a decent job or build a bridge to fame.
- Stogie Bear said: Miranda was great stuff. A breath of fresh air and a welcome change from the current yield of puerile adolescent comedy, void of originality and character development. As the writer of the above dreadful commentary had decided the fate of this show two minutes into it then clearly he/she is incapable and under-qualified to dispense a valid opinion. I watched this show from the beginning intending to hate it and with the preconceived notion that there are NO funny women, but I was wrong. If you like The Young Ones, Black Adder, The Fast Show or Bottom, etc, then give this show a watch... preferably a complete episode, not two minutes! Miranda (both the show and the lead) very quickly grow on you. It is slapstick, farcical and silly... but has likable characters and a wonderful feel good factor. I and the missus can't wait for series 2!
- HALUA said: i think its a ridiculous idea so say chimps are more clever than humans when these chimps have been practicing the same thing daily for years and then asking a human to practice working memory on the spot.
- Unknown said: What David had done was disgusting. I watched the documentary on TV last night, and was, well, scared to death. which is very rare. I've heard of psychopathic killers, but i never took them seriously. Until I saw this. And I wonder if this guy was the 'normal' psychopathic killer. then what would the 'abnormal' ones would be like. i remember that he wanted to be a good monster. and he denied to accept that he was unbelievably and utterly evil. The man is disgusting, he highlighted the fact that he was treated cruelty by his father, which could have been true since this is not the normal human behavior but a lot of it could have been lies because as they said in the documentary, they are selfish people, they only care about themselves, which would be obvious for the way he treated his Julie and his other victims, even the dog he killed when he was sixteen, and there is the fact that he wanted to be a serial cannibal killer, ambition, a dream, a dream that someone right now might be happened, and for what i can do is pray that it never, ever comes true. I hope that they find Julie's body parts, and I hope, i really hope that they seek out other killers of such kind. and for all I know I'm happy for all that I have.

'McGuire Lite' you could call it. I did them both so I should know! If you're serious about your stutter, I'd advise going for McGuire.

- Tillman said: Vorderman came on and fought her corner with a little of the passion completely absent in the rest of the more 'sophisticated' stiffs around the table, and her unpolished general performance was certainly no worse than that of many former panellists. The smug liberal establishment - which presumably prefers colourless and gutless political ciphers such as Lord Adonis - reacted with a condescending fit of the vapours, largely because, horror of horrors, a popular and articulate TV personality turned out to be an instinctive reactionary rather than the type of 'progressive' thinker who has led our country with such conspicuous glory, dynamism and success over the past decade.
- Mike said: Like many others I cringed every time Carol Vorderman opened her mouth on Question Time. I also cringed when somehow she got onto 'Breakfast' and advertised a blatently commercial 'mathematics teaching/learning website' that could solve all the numeracy problems that the current Government have caused in our schools - parents have to pay a subscription for this service of course. Too many commentators, many of whom are politicians, including David Cameron have no idea about the difference between 'mathematics' and 'basic arithmetic'. The former is often used when the latter is meant! Ms Vorderman also suffers from this delusion.

Perhaps she was put up to it, it backfired spectacularly. It was made all the more obvious with her being placed next to Will Self. The tabloid, noise of superficial 'argument' and reactionary emotion aimed at an absent mirror reading audience, against thoughtful understanding backed by knowledge. At least Boris was amusing in his ridiculousness.
