Liz (Beverly Callard) is not happy with Steve (Simon Gregson) for interfering in her business but he's not fooled when she protests her innocence. However she is keen to prove that she's not cheating on Vernon (Ian Reddington) and even heads off to have one of her wedding photos enlarged. Later she tells Harry (Jack Ellis) that she wants to cool things off a bit. With Clarissa (Alexandra Boyd) starting to cause him more problems, Harry agrees.
Ashley (Steven Arnold) and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) despair over the behaviour of their wives as the bickering over the house swap continues. Both men agree to keep the women apart to try and get things moving. But despite their best efforts it looks as though neither Sally (Sally Whittaker) or Claire (Julia Haworth) will back down.

Liz (Beverly Callard) is full of the joys of spring and Harry (Jack Ellis) is also in a good mood but he insists to Dan (Matthew Crompton) that he and Liz are just mates. Dan is sceptical especially when he discovers that Liz is going round to the flat again later. Over a game of darts in the Rovers he 'lets slip' to Steve (Simon Gregson) that Harry and Liz had dinner last night and are getting cosy in the flat. Outraged, Steve heads round to the flat to have it out with Liz - what will he find?
The builders have begun work on removing the cladding and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) mourns its passing but Jack (WIlliam Tarmey) and Molly (Vicky Binns) are happy to see the back of it. However things don’t go quite to plan and it looks as though Tyrone might get his way after all!

Harry (Jack Ellis) tries to persude Dan (Matthew Crompton) that he and Liz (Beverly Callard) are 100% platonic but Dan is less than convinced. Meanwhile, Liz lies to Steve and tells him that she needs him to cover for her as Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) needs her help. Dressed to the nines Liz arrives at Deirdre's to ensure she'll be her alibi before heading off to meet Harry. However, she panics that she's overdone the outfit and changes before going to Harry's flat. He puts her at her ease but it is evident that he fancies her. Sorely tempted, Liz manages to tear herself away but it is clear she is smitten.
Sally (Sally Whittaker) is delighted when the survey for the Peacocks' house shows subsidence in the conservatory. Armed with this information she tells Claire (Julia Haworth) that the deal is off unless she lowers the price. Claire is gutted - will she agree to lower the price?

It's all go at the Websters' as Sally (Sally Whittaker) excitedly plans the decor for their new home. Kevin (Michael Le Vell) urges caution and reminds her that the house is not theirs yet. Meanwhile it seems as though Kevin could have a point as Claire (Julia Haworth) tells Ashley (Steven Arnold) she thinks their house has been undervalued and she announces she is going to ask the Websters for more money. How will Sally react to this development?
Over at Molly (Vicky Binns) and Tyrone's (Alan Halsall), home improvements are also the topic of the day. Molly wants to remove the infamous stone cladding but Tyrone is worried that Jack (Bill Tarmey) might be upset. Molly decides the best thing to do is ask him first how he feels about it.

Underworld is closed. The factory ladies are waiting outside and neither Liam (Rob James-Collier) or Carla (Alison King) are answering their phones. Embarrased that she has left her factory keys at her desk, Rosie (Helen Flanagan) says she has keys to Carla's flat so she will get the spare factory keys. The factory workers head off for a brew whilst they wait. But as she reaches Carla's street Rosie stops in her tracks, she watches in amazement as Liam steps out of the door backwards with Carla's arms around his waist. Rosie hides and watches them kiss whilst filming on her mobile phone.

As Maria (Samia Smith) puts her case to a weary Liam (Rob Jame Collier) he starts to soften towards her and come round to the idea of them getting back together. He eventually suggests that the two of them should go away somewhere with Ozzy to try and get back on track. Maria is delighted - but unbeknown to her Liam has one more hurdle to get over before their reconciliation can happen. How is Carla (Alison King) going to react to the news that he is choosing Maria over her once more?
David (Jack P Shepherd) is surprised when Gail (Helen Worth) arrives at visiting time with Ted (Michael Byrne) in tow. David realises that his grandfather is no pushover and tells him about life in the institution but can't resist a few digs when he realises Ted is gay. Ted is more than a match for David however once they return from the visit Ted tells Gail he is leaving. Aas Gail's troubled family life frightened him off?

It’s the morning after Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Carla's (Alison King) night together. Liam comes out of the bathroom and starts gathering his clothes. Carla appears teasing him with his shirt. Liam feels awkward and says one of them should be opening the factory. Carla and Liam pull up outside the factory, as Maria approaches Carla tells him to think fast. Liam lies and tells her they have been out for breakfast. Maria tells him she wants them to register the baby's death. Liam agrees. They set off together, very distant and not knowing what to say to each other.
At the factory Liam is deep in thought at his desk. Carla comes over and says she is going home. She drops a key to her flat in front of Liam, he doesn't touch it. Carla tells him they are right for each other and that he knows where she is. She bends down to kiss him but he shakes his head. She leaves him lost in his thoughts.

Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Maria (Samia Smith) continue in a tence silence after Maria asks if they have a future together. When Liam replies that he doesn't know, Maria announces that she is going to ring Fiz (Jennie Mcalpine) to see if she can stay with her for a while.
Out on the street Liam desperately tries to persuade Maria that they are not splitting up. Carla (Alison King) arrives and asks whats going on. Maria tells her that they have split up, Carla succesfully manages to hide her delight. Will she make a move on Liam?
Surrounded by used tissues Maria has a heart to heart with Fiz. Fiz thinks maybe Liam is telling the truth, that his feelings for Carla are in the past. Maria tells her that there was only one fool in the marriage and that was her.

Despite their previous closeness at the funeral, there is still clear distance between Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Maria (Samia Smith). Liam is determined to go back to work to try and get back to normal but in doing so acts hard towards Maria and he leaves feeling guilty.
Over at the factory, Carla (Alison King) is surprised to see Liam at work. He realises he shouldn't be there saying he needs to register his baby's death. Carla wants to go with him but Liam insists he will be fine. Carla attempts some flirty banter but Liam is not interested. Later Liam and Maria are attempting to talk about their feelings when they are interupted by a knock and the door from Carla with a bottle of wine. Liam is angry and slams the door in her face leaving standing hurt on the street. Maria is shocked. But, putting his cards on the table, he confesses he did once have feelings for her - how will Maria react?

Liam (Rob James Collier) is relieved that Maria (Samia Smith)has arrived at the funeral and the two of them prepare to bury their son.Carla (Alison King) feels pushed out by their closeness and leaves them to grieve alone. The funeral is an emotional time for everyone but mother and father are reconciled as they movingly talk to their baby boy about their hopes and dreams for him. Later at the Rovers the rest of the congregation talk about how moving the burial was but no one is quite sure what to say to Carla who stands alone with her thoughts.
Gail (Helen Worth) is surprised by a visit from Tina (Michelle Keegan) who tells her that she has been to see David (Jack P Shepherd). Gail asks her to pass on her love next time she visits. Later Gail is thrilled to hear from Ted and they make plans to meet up tomorrow.

It is the day of the baby's funeral and Maria (Samia Smith) is still insisting that she won't attend. Audrey (Sue Nicholls) tries to convince her that is is a bad idea but Maria is sure she will make things worse with Liam (Rob James Collier) by going. Carla meanwhile is still offering her support to Liam and accompanies him to the church. Will Maria change her mind and be there to bury her son?
Claire (Julia Haworth) is dellighted that Ashley (Steven Arnold) has agreed to the house swap and she and Sally (Sally Whittaker) set the wheels in motion for the estate agents to value the properties. The women seem to have the whole plan mapped out but neither Kevin (Michael Le Vell) nor Ashley are convinced this is the answer.

Carla (Alison King) is stunned to find out from Liam (Rob James Collier) about Maria (Samia Smith) losing the baby and even more shocked when she discovers that she kept it from him. Genuinely upset for both of them, she is able to offer Liam to comfort that he has been lacking from Maria. He goes to see Maria and they finally discuss the funeral details and a name for the baby but Maria is gutted when he leaves again with Carla and she sees her hug him. Are Maria's worst fears about Liam and Carla going to come true after all?

Liam (Rob James Collier) is stunned as Maria (Smia Smith) tells him what happened. He can't believe she didn't tell him that the baby had died and went through the birth without him. As he struggles to come to terms with it he insists she give him some answers. When she finally explains why she couldn't tell him what had happened he is devastated and when she refuses to talk about the funeral their grief turns to anger and they start arguing. As Liam leaves a distraught Maria begs him to tell her he loves her but he can't bring himself to say the words.
Ashley (Steven Arnold) is surprised at Claire's idea that they downsize and move house to save some money. Over a drink - of water - in the pub Claire (Julia Haworth) discusses the idea with Sally (Sally Whittaker) and it isn't long before the two women have come up with a plan to solve the problem - they should swap houses.

Audrey (Sue Nicholls) is stunned by what she has discovered in Maria's bag, and heart in mouth, she asks Maria (Samia Smith) to explain what is going on. As Maria looks at the picture of her son's tiny feet she breaks down and confesses to Audrey what has happened.
Audrey's shock however is nothing compared to Liam's when a midwife turns up at the house looking for Maria to check she is ok after the still birth. Numb Liam (Rob James Collier) tries to take in the news before making the decision to go and get some answers from Maria.
Marcus (Charlie Condou) is still struggling with the Maria's secret but his spirits are lifted by the early return of Sean (Antony Cotton). Sean's protestations that he just wanted to come home don't ring true and it isn't long before Marcus discovers the real reason Sean has caught an early flight home.

Ashley (Steven Arnold) arrives home from work to find Claire (Julia Haworth) in a state of panic cutting up their bank and credit cards. She explains that someone has cleared out their accounts and she can't get to see the bank until tomorrow. She is stunned when Ashley tells her that no one has got access to their accounts - he has used all the money to shore up the business. He assures her they will work it out and she tells him that they will get through it together.
