The hit forensic crime drama continues its eighth
season. This week, the CSIs investigate the

murder of a young woman in her apartment, only
to find a second body on the floor above. The two
homicides are connected to a shady nightclub
promoter who is serving time in jail.
The CSIs respond when a young blonde woman
is found shot dead in her apartment. Grissom
discovers seven casings along with blood drops
coming from the ceiling. After investigating the flat
above, the team makes the grisly discovery of a
second body – that of Maria Espinoza, the tenant
who lived above the victim from the first crime
scene. Maria has been shot in the neck, and the
CSIs theorise she was hit by a stray bullet from the
murder of the blonde woman.
Brass discovers that the name on the lease for
both apartments is Kellen Tyford – also known as
‘Drops’ – a shifty nightclub promoter who is currently serving time in prison. Brass pays Drops a visit in jail and learns that the blonde victim is Jessica Jaynes, a girl who worked at Drops’s club. Drops also explains that the other victim, Maria, is an old friend whom he allowed to stay in the second apartment when she was evicted from her home. Brass and Dr Robbins bring in Jessica’s husband, Walter Jaynes, to identify the body of his wife.
Forensic work by Greg reveals that Maria Espinoza’s daughter, Dana, was in her apartment recently – possibly at the time she was killed.
Revisiting Drops, they learn that Dana is pregnant with his child. Dana becomes a person of interest and the cops are keen to locate her, so Brass and Nick agree to escort Drops out of prison on the condition that he helps to look for her.
Meanwhile, Catherine and Archie are busy examining Jessica Jaynes’s cell phone to get an idea of her last movements. They find a series of text messages between her and her husband, Walter, regarding a plan to go after hidden money belonging to Drops. According to the messages, Jessica and Walter were working in league with
someone called ‘Val’. When Catherine uses Jessica’s phone to call Val, she is shocked to hear Warrick answer the call. It transpires that Warrick is at another crime scene, where a woman named Valinda Carlisle has been shot in the back of the head. Witnesses report seeing her in the company of a pregnant woman – could it be Dana Espinoza?
With Dana now connected to three murders, the cops need to trace her as a matter of urgency.
Drops suggests they might find her at his club, so Brass and Nick take their prisoner to his office, where he gives them access to surveillance footage showing Walter Jaynes escorting Dana at
gunpoint. Before the cops can begin to make sense of this latest twist, Drops decides to make his getaway. He flees the office with Nick in hot pursuit. The CSI has almost caught up with his quarry when Walter Jaynes pulls up in his car, collects Drops and drives off. With three homicides still to be solved and a convict now on the loose, the CSIs realise the case is fast slipping out of their control...
