Viv (Deena Payne) and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) lose custom and finance at the shop as the police invetsigation continues. Their private investigator arrives for an update and after he releases details of a key witness, Viv is keen to pay a visit. In spite of Bob's objections, Viv sneaks out of the café and interrogates the witness herself. The witness is adamant she has seen Viv at Freddie's house and orders her to leave. Back in the village, Bob realises Viv has lied to him and tracks her down at the house. With the witness' positive I.D of Viv swimming in his mind, Bob begins to doubt his wife. Is Viv truly the guilty party?
Elsewhere, with Val (Charlie Hardwick) busy preparing the Woolpack for the Village Pub of the Year contest, the Dingles take the opportunity to steal the pub's furniture. With her cleaning complete, Val notices the furniture has gone and storms straight round to the Dingles. However, refusing to reveal its location, the Dingles send Val packing and she is forced to borrow furniture from elsewhere. A judge soon arrives at the Woolpack and despite enjoying a meal, comments about the dodgy furnishings. Later, Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) is furious with Val and sends her sister round to pay the Dingles' ransom. Is Val likely to let her nemeses have the last laugh?
