Gray (Christopher Villiers) visits Perdy (Georgia Slowe) and she agrees to drop the custody petition in return for a part in the baby's life. On his return to the village, Gray broaches the subject with Katie (Sammy Winward) but she is adamant that Perdy will not be allowed access. Worried about Gray's silence, Perdy decides to visit the village herself and check on his progress. Gray discovers his wife's intentions and rushes round to stop her, leaving Katie in the lurch. Katie follows Gray to give him his briefcase, believing he has gone to see a client. However, she turns up at Perdy's apartment and is stunned to find Gray giving Perdy a goodbye kiss. What will Katie do about Gray's lies?

Also, after Ashley (John Middleton) questions the Dolands about Mel's (Caroline Strong) whereabouts, Jake (James Baxter) confesses to Greg (Shaun Prendergast) that he knows where she is. Greg finds his wife and encourages her to return to the village, insisting that they'll fight to keep Arthur (Billy Harrower). Back in the village, Ashley is relieved to see Mel has been found and orders the Dolands to have the DNA test. He is shocked to find that it has already been done and tells Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) about the current situation. Laurel is unmoved and berates Ashley for the hurt he's caused the Dolands. Ashley admits he wants them to have counselling, but will Laurel accept a reconciliation?

Meanwhile, after listening to Val's (Charlie Hardwick) exorbitant wedding plans, Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) jokes with Pollard (Chris Chittell) that he'd better have deep pockets. Taking Val aside, Pollard is pleasantly surprised when she tells him that the wedding need not put them in debt. However, her solution is merely to put hard cash into the wedding fund instead. Can Pollard prevent the onset of bankruptcy?
