Five has renewed its UK terrestrial TV licensing deal for the Golden Globe® and SAG Award ® winning smash hit U.S. hospital drama series Grey's Anatomy, with Disney's Buena Vista International Television (BVITV), it was announced today (MON).

The new deal will continue to give Five the exclusive UK terrestrial rights to the series, which is the number one scripted programme in Adults 18-49 in the U.S.

Acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, Grey's Anatomy is the recipient of multiple Emmy Award nominations and winner of the Golden Globe® and SAG® awards for Best Television Series – Drama and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, respectively.

Vanessa Brookman , Five's Controller of Acquisitions, and Catherine Powell, BVITV's Vice President, Sales UK and Ireland, Nordic, Benelux and Israel negotiated the licensing deal.

Grey's Anatomy stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey, Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd, Sandra Oh as Cristina Yang, Isaiah Washington as Preston Burke, Katherine Heigl as Isobel "Izzie" Stevens, Justin Chambers as Alex Karev, T.R. Knight as George O'Malley, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey, James Pickens, Jr. as Richard Webber, Kate Walsh as Addison Shepherd, Sara Ramirez as Callie Torres and Eric Dane as Mark Sloan. The series is produced by ABC Television Studio.

Five recently signed a deal with BVITV for the VOD rights to Grey's Anatomy in the UK. Last year, Five became the first UK broadcaster to launch a VOD service, called Five Download.
