The Sun reports that Paul Marquess has the cast “terrified” as he makes what have been described as “ruthless” cast cuts.

Hollyoaks Cast News

Newbie Hollyoaks actress Helen Russell Clark has told the PA that she thinks her character – Jem – makes the ideal partner for Gilly Roach, who’s played by Anthony Quinlan.

Helen said, "It's a really sweet relationship - they're really good together. People view him as a clown but she sees something others don't and sees his real kindness.

“But she's a very free sprit and he's a bit of a home boy, so I don't know how that pans out." The pair’s relationship is set to anger Steph Cunningham who is of course in love with Gilly herself.

And, as if two eager women wasn’t enough, Cheryl’s after a piece of Gilly too!

When asked how pleased she was to land the role of Jem, Helen said, "I had just been indoor skydiving at a wind tunnel in Milton Keynes and then I got phonecall…

“I literally thought I was going to have a heart attack because I was so buzzed! I was really happy."
