Martha discovers that Roman has been hiding a
big secret. Sam gets entangled even further into a

web of lies. Noel has a proposal for Ric. Cassie is
rejected after sharing her secret. Leah finally gets
good news. Sally makes a momentous decision.
Things between Martha and Roman have been
heating up for some time now, but it soon
becomes clear that Roman is hiding something
from his new lady friend. When Martha and Morag
are staying at Roman’s place because the Diner
apartment’s roof has fallen in, Martha has a look
around and is amazed to find a picture of Roman
with his arm around a beautiful young girl. She
finally confronts him about the picture, demanding
to know the identity of the girl, but his answer is
the last thing she expected to hear: the picture is
of his teenage daughter! After dropping this
bombshell, Roman neglects to furnish Martha with any more details and goes off for a run, leaving her mad with curiosity. What else could he
be hiding from her?
Sam is also hiding a huge secret – her role in Johnny’s death. When the news comes out that Johnny was murdered, Sam does her best to appear shocked. But when Jack finds out that Sam had been at the hospital at the time Johnny died, he tells her that she needs to make a statement. Sam initially claims that she does not remember anything, but then makes up a story about seeing a man wandering around the hospital. To try and get more details of this mysterious man, Rachel suggests that Sam undergo hypnotherapy. With no choice but to agree, Sam only succeeds in making things worse for herself... and Rachel starts to suspect that Sam is not telling her everything.
Also buckling under the weight of secrecy is Cassie. When Colleen comments on her weight, Cassie confesses that she is pregnant – but does not reveal that she is also HIV-positive. Later, she is helping out at the collapsing Diner when she cuts herself and freaks out in case anyone comes into contact with her blood. Noticing her reaction, Roman guesses what is going on... and tells Cassie that it is only a matter of time before other people realise the truth.
Also this week, Leah finds out that Dan died saving a young man’s life and is amazed to be given $100,000 by the man’s grateful father. Miles has an eventful first day at school. Noel has a plan for making some money out of Ric. Annie’s matchmaking plans go awry. And, after the trauma of losing her job, Sally decides that it is time to leave the Bay and see the world.
