Nicole conducts some lessons in love. There is a witch-hunt on at Summer Bay High. Ric hatches a plan to get himself off the hook. Tony and Matilda remember Beth. Tony and Rachel set a wedding date. Geoff gives Nicole a taste of her own medicine. Viv makes a life-altering decision.
So far, Nicole’s attempts to seduce Geoff have been unsuccessful, so she takes things up a notch – by making some sexy alterations to her school uniform. Her new look is perfectly timed to coincide with the kissing lessons she has promised to give Geoff. Everything seems to be going according to plan, especially when Melody cottons on to the couple’s antics and gives Geoff the cold shoulder. But when Geoff confesses to Belle that he is brushing up on his kissing skills for Melody, she immediately becomes suspicious. Realising that Nicole is up to mischief, Belle warns Geoff. Together they decide to teach Nicole a lesson – and Geoff has his camera phone at the ready to make sure she never forgets it...
Meanwhile, Miles is dealing with his own controversy. When a risqué book makes its way onto the curriculum at Summer Bay High, he races to remove it from circulation. ‘Spring Awakening’ deals with some heavy themes – including teenage rebellion and promiscuity – and Miles is afraid of making waves. Despite the school’s best efforts, Melody manages to get her hands on a copy and she is hooked from page one. But when Christine discovers the racy tome in her daughter’s possession, she confronts Principal Bartlett. It is not long before Christine is recruiting other parents to help conduct a full-blown witch-hunt for the person who released the book. Matters reach explosive levels when Christine discovers Geoff and Melody getting up close and personal at the Den... Have the students of Summer Bay fallen prey to loose morals?
Elsewhere, Ric is leading his own fight for good. With the law on his side – in the form of Summer Bay’s police force – he hopes to expose Noel for organising illegal prizefighting. Ric arrives at the fight location only to learn that the cops have been called away to chase down a gang of escaped prisoners. While he waits for back-up, Ric has to stall the start of the brawl. But with time running out and Noel breathing down his neck, Ric must step into the ring without the police sting in place. Has all his planning been for nothing?
Also this week, Tony grieves for Beth one year since her passing – but his emotional distance leaves Rachel feeling left out. However, the dark day has a silver lining when Tony realises it is time to make an honest woman of Rachel. Meanwhile, as Jack ponders his career, Martha gives him even more to think about when she proposes. And Viv decides to leave Noel – but is rushed to hospital before she can go through with it.
