Is there some truth to Morag’s theory about Sam’s death? Ric’s secret is out of the bag. What does the future hold for Jack and Martha? Roman’s teenage daughter arrives in the Bay. Sparks fly between Aden and his new housemate. Jack makes a huge decision.

This week, Jack and Martha remain the chief suspects in the case of Sam’s death. With his friends and family rallying around him, Jack enlists their help in scouring Summer Bay for proof of his innocence. Jazz thinks the bruises found on Sam’s body may be significant, so she and Tony form an unusual plan to find the brute responsible. But when the two get involved with some local heavies, Jack must rescue them from the long arm of the law. In rescuing the hapless pair, Jack may have lost a valuable lead, and with it the chance to clear his name. Morag holds fast to her theory that Sam took her own life, and when the missing dinghy is washed up on the beach, her claims appear to be well-founded.

Meanwhile, Matilda is shocked to find a large wad of cash in Ric’s wallet and is furious when she learns he has been paid for illegal prizefighting. How could he keep such a big secret from her? Ric makes excuses for his behaviour – he was desperate for the money and kept the fight to himself because he knew Matilda would worry. But she does not believe a word of his story. Realising their relationship is potentially on the rocks, Ric confesses to Matilda that Noel has asked him to fight again. There are big bucks on offer and Ric is chomping at the bit to get back in the ring. Matilda is totally opposed to the idea, but should she give Ric credit for his honesty and cut him some slack this time?

Roman and Martha’s romance is also on shaky ground this week. Roman senses that there are unresolved feelings between Martha and her exhusband. She and Jack have been thrown together in shared adversity, and have once again become close. Roman does not want to be the losing party in a love triangle, so perhaps getting out now would be the best thing to do. Martha denies his claims that the old flame is still burning, but Roman is not convinced. As Jack is at a particularly low point, he has become very dependent on Martha and even confides to her that he wants to quit his job. With Martha continuing to act as Jack’s emotional rock, could Roman’s suspicions prove to be correct?

Also this week, Aden checks out of hospital. Annie and Melody continue to ignore Geoff. Leah’s new venture gets off the ground. Roman’s daughter, Nicole, arrives in the Bay. And things get complicated with Morag’s living situation.
