This gripping documentary focuses on German cannibal Armin Meiwes, who made headlines around the world when he was convicted of killing and eating another man. The case garnered special attention when it was revealed that Meiwes’s victim, Bernd Brandes, had agreed to be eaten after answering an internet advertisement placed by Meiwes looking for volunteers to fulfil his cannibalistic desires.

Meiwes was originally found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to eight and a half years in jail in 2004. A re-trial two years later changed his conviction to murder and upgraded his sentence to life, after prosecutors argued that the original verdict was too lenient.

This film includes an exclusive interview with Meiwes in prison, alongside home footage and a look at the police evidence used to convict the cannibal. The documentary also visits the chilling house of horror where Meiwes butchered, cooked and consumed his willing victim over the course of several months.
