Money-saving expert Martin Lewis continues to
inspire viewers to take charge of their finances.
bills and line-rental charges. Actor Matt Di Angelo
submits his wallet for a workout, and Ruth Liptrot
finds out how part-time work as a music critic can
top up your bank balance.
Martin presents this series with Five News
correspondent Ruth Liptrot. As well as covering
big campaign stories, the show explains how to
become a savvy consumer, with advice on
reclaiming cash and cutting bills. Each week,
Martin rifles through a celebrity’s wallet and tallies
up the cash that could be saved in a year – a total
which is added to the Celebrity Wallet Workout
Wall. Meanwhile, reporter Ruth Liptrot goes out
onto the streets of Britain to meet ordinary people
who have taken money-saving to the extreme.
The main money item of this week’s programme
is a look at telephone pricing. Martin shows how
to beat the BT line-rental rise and offers tips on
how to bring the price of international calls down.
He meets one super saver whose clever eye for a
bargain means that she can call her mother in
India for just two pence a minute.
This week’s celebrity guest is actor Matt Di
Angelo. Matt danced his way into the nation’s
hearts on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, but how will he
fare in Martin’s Wallet Workout? Now that the star
has left ‘EastEnders’, he may need to pay close
attention to Martin’s advice...
Elsewhere, Ruth Liptrot finds out about a
lucrative – and enjoyable – sideline. She discovers
how reviewing music in your spare time can bring
in the cash – a pastime that is ideal for music fans
whose desire to hear the next big thing may be
stymied by what they can actually afford to hear.
Plus, Martin presents his weekly Money Saving
News with a roundup of the latest hot deals,
offers, loopholes and freebies.
