Film4 joins the national 2008 celebration of the centenary of the birth of David Lean with an extensive season of some of his finest films. Alec Guinness stars as Colonel Nicholson, the commanding officer of British PoWs in Burma in David Lean's seven Oscar-winning Second World War classic.
