My Body Hell - Wednesday September 26

my body hell (2/5)
20.00–21.00

This groundbreaking new documentary series provides a revealing insight into the complex world of women’s beauty, using candid testimony from real women across the country.

In a British television first, My Body Hell takes viewers inside the bathrooms of female celebrities and everyday women as they pluck, squeeze and shave their bodies to within an inch of their lives. The series also asks why 98 per cent of women hate their bodies when they are perfectly normal and attractive. Unique in its genre, My Body Hell does not attempt to make women over, but rather encourages them to love and accept their bodies –freckles, stretch marks, wrinkles and all!

The focus of today’s edition is the face, which is one area upon which women seem more than happy to lavish cash in pursuit of perfection –from blemish-free skin to perfect peepers, bee-stung pouts and salon-perfect hair. Last year, British women spent a massive £1 billion on cosmetics – more per head than any of our continental cousins.

In this investigation into beauty obsessions north of the neckline, Liberty X chanteuse and make-up addict Michelle Heaton bravely goes slap-free to a movie premiere –but can she cope so far out of her cosmetic comfort zone?

Elsewhere, a woman explains how her hatred of her lips has had the dramatic effect of stopping her snogging; while another contributor tells how her extremely flaky scalp turns a little black dress into a snow storm. Plus, ‘Big Brother’ contestant Charley does battle with her extensions on the ultimate bad hair day.

Hi There,

Have you thought about/tried laser hair removal? What would happen is that you can get your hair bleached (skin colour- not obvious at all) with a laser and after a few days the hair just comes off. I have 'normal' hair growth on my face (upper lip, chin) and get lasering done once every few months. The results are instant and it is not too painful or costly. Also there are various types of lasers out there, I use the 'soft-light' machine but there are other types available which may suit you better. They should invite you in for a free patch test to make sure your skin won't adversly react in any way.

Good Luck and I hope it works out for you! Smiling

Just read the people who had written in New You Bootcamp. I went last month too. it was really tough but it was worth it. I lost alot of weight but gained some back after an operation so decided I wanted to kick start my healthy regime again.

I lost inches, toned up and lost 5lbs in the week. I am back in my old clothes now and ready for my daughter's wedding.

For anyone who is interested, www.newyoubootcamp.com is the site.

Hi Everyone,

I have slightly thinning hair but suffer horrendously with excessive hair on the front of my neck. I have had this in varying degrees for a very long time and it has caused my marriage nearly to break up (I can't let my husband near me unless I have just had my daily "shave". Is there anyone out there who can offer some friendly advice as to how to deal with my problem. The hair covers virtually the whole of my neck and my doctor has told me - after a blood test - that it is nothing hormonal. He said he cannot/will not help me any further.

Is there anyone out there that has the same problem and something has worked for them?

PLEASE don't put any funny comments as this upsets me terribly.

if you are bald you should kill your hairiest pet and strip them of their coat of fur. dry it out then stik it to your bald patch using an industrial strength glue. This works perfectly and has given me a thik head of fur for many years now.
hope you find this useful
