A Ramsay Street favourite bids farewell. Elle catches Paul red-handed. Steph and Dan face danger in the bush. Carmella receives an exciting offer. Libby clashes with Samantha.
It is a momentous week for the residents of Ramsay Street as a beloved neighbour leaves for pastures new. Harold is about to set off in his camper van on a trip across Australia, but first he must get through the painful process of saying his goodbyes. He also gains an unexpected companion in the form of Valda, who wants to hitch a ride to visit Lyn. As the day of Harold’s departure looms, he is touched to receive a letter from Lou, in which his best mate reveals his true feelings about him. Harold hands over the keys to number 24 to Marco and Carmella, asking them to take care of the old place, before his friends gather in the general store to throw him a surprise leaving party. As Harold drives away, will Erinsborough ever be the same again?
Meanwhile, Elle confronts Kirsten about her suspected affair with Paul. Trying to protect her dad, she overplays her hand by insisting that Kirsten resign from Lassiter’s. Sneaky Kirsten refuses to go quietly, however, and turns to Paul to tackle his daughter. Paul tries to convince Elle that she is mistaken, but his lies are exposed when Elle catches them in the act. She is devastated by Paul’s betrayal and threatens to go straight to Rebecca. However, when presented with the opportunity to tell Rebecca everything, Elle hesitates. Will she stay loyal to her cheating father?
Elsewhere, Steph is in need of a distraction following Toadie’s decision to leave town for a while, so she agrees to enrol on Dan’s SES (State Emergency Service) training course in the bush. Steph, Dan, Ned and Steve head to the outback, where Steph’s impulsive behaviour soon leads her to clash with Dan. Matters take a shocking turn when the bickering pair fall down a disused mineshaft and become trapped. While Steph clutches at her dislocated shoulder, Dan manages to raise Ned and Steve on the radio. Ned finds a way into the mine and, despite his claustrophobia, Steve joins his brother in a bid to tunnel through to their trapped friends. But when the walls of their own mineshaft begin to give way, the lives of the whole group are put in danger...
Also this week, Carmella is given the perfect opportunity to escape Oliver and Marco’s feud when she is invited to visit her relatives in Italy. Declan and Ringo get themselves into trouble at a gig. Libby and Sam confront each other over their feelings for Dan. Taylah tries to set Rachel up with a new boyfriend. And Ned suspects Steve has unresolved issues with their father.
