Is Steph and Toadie’s wedding doomed? Susan collapses and is rushed to hospital. Frazer and Rosie are forced to go public with their news. Paul is tempted to stray once again. Things heat up between Oliver and Mia.
Having endured countless ups and downs on the way to the altar, Toadie and Steph continue to be blighted by bad luck as their big day arrives. At the church door, Steph suffers a bout of nerves and threatens to make Toadie’s nightmare of being jilted come true. Toadie’s relief at seeing his bride walking up the aisle turns to dismay when Steph stumbles through her vows and he sees that she is only there to make him happy. A devastated Toadie stuns the congregation by leaving Steph at the altar. He retreats to the Kennedy house and ignores attempts by Karl, Frazer and Libby to talk him round. In the aftermath of the ceremony, Toadie and Steph avoid each other and refuse to contemplate their future. Is it all over for Ramsay Street’s favourite couple?
Susan is also having a tough week. She pushes herself to her limits in order to give a reading at the wedding, and reacts angrily to suggestions that she must make compromises to her MS. However, when she stands up to practise her reading at the wedding rehearsal, she suffers a dramatic collapse and is rushed to hospital. Kept under observation, Susan finally sees sense and agrees to Karl’s recommendation that she seek specialist care at an MS retreat. At the same time, Rachel struggles with guilt at the thought her recent misdemeanours have caused Susan’s latest relapse.
Elsewhere, Frazer piles more heartbreak on his pal Toadie when he accidentally runs over one of Ramsay Street’s oldest residents, Toadie’s pet dog, Bob. Frazer is in a panic after hearing that Rosie has collapsed at work, and in his haste leaves the scene of the accident without explaining himself. As Steve works desperately to save Bob’s life, Frazer faces a barrage of criticism for his actions, forcing Rosie to step in and reveal that she is pregnant. Carmella decides to take charge of her big sister and orders her to cut back on her hectic schedule. The neighbours soon have more good news to celebrate when plucky little Bob pulls through the surgery.
Also this week, Paul is tempted to stray once again when he strikes up a rapport with Kirsten. Oliver and Mia act on their mutual attraction, only to have their secret affair exposed. Marco is forced to confess the truth of his infertility to Carmella. And Rebecca receives some troubling information about the class-action suit that could incriminate Steph.
