Rebecca finds herself at the centre of a love triangle this week. After spending the night with Paul, she is reunited with former love Andrew Simpson, who declares that he wants to be with her once and for all. The pair confirm their whirlwind romance is back on when Andrew asks Rebecca to marry him – and she says yes. Paul, meanwhile, is devastated to have his hopes of a reconciliation dashed. Elle urges her father to fight for the woman he loves, so Paul lays his heart on the line – only for Rebecca to tell him that she is moving on. News of Rebecca and Andrew’s engagement spreads around the street, but is she as committed to her new relationship as she would like everyone to believe?
Over at number 28, Zeke fears that Rachel is about to squander a golden opportunity to study in London when she announces her intention to remain in Erinsborough and be with Ty. Realising that Ty is the only reason his sister is staying, Zeke persuades him to break off their relationship. When Ty tells a stunned Rachel that he does not love her, she wastes no time in figuring out that her brother has put him up to it. Rachel decides to go to London after all, but can Ty watch her leave without declaring his true feelings?
Elsewhere, Miranda and Steve try to come to terms with their impending divorce. Miranda strikes out in a new direction by applying for a job at Lassiter’s, while Steve finds himself enjoying the attentions of a young woman in Charlie’s Bar. But when he considers asking her out, he realises he has misconstrued the situation. His confidence dented, Steve returns to Miranda to beg for a second chance – but she insists their marriage is over. Her refusal crushes Steve’s hopes and he hits rock bottom. Can he cope with their break-up?
Also this week, Ringo and Zeke come to blows over Donna. Declan gives up his last chance to impress in the AFL when he stops to comfort Bridget over her parents’ divorce. Elle is less than pleased to hear that Lucas is seeing someone else. Ty begins his new job as a labourer but struggles with the back-breaking work. And Simon takes Sass to task for making Tegan the talk of the school. Will Sass ever learn to be a mother rather than a friend to her kids?
