Can Zeke and Ringo bury their differences? Dan’s parenting skills are tested. Declan resents Andrew’s presence. Can Steve pull himself out of his slide? Elle tries to make Lucas jealous.
Zeke and Ringo prepare for their boxing match this week. But they are stunned when they each receive a letter from Donna, telling them that she wants nothing more to do with them. Rejection does nothing to quell the boys’ fighting spirit, however. As friends and family gather at the gym for the boxing match, Ringo and Zeke fail to show. The fight has moved to another venue – and by the time their friends arrive, Zeke has been knocked unconscious. However, Ringo insists that he is not to blame for Zeke’s blackout. It soon becomes clear that Zeke is still suffering trauma from the rafting accident. In a bid to avoid professional counselling, he pretends to bury the hatchet with Ringo. But how long can Zeke insist that all is well?
Dan, meanwhile, is still shaken up from his run-in with Steve. But his week does not get any better when he arrives late at work, comes under fire from Libby for falling behind in his marking, and winds up with a class of mischievous teen students. Later, while Libby is out for the evening, Dan has to look after Ben, and finds his parenting skills pushed to the limit by the lad’s cheeky behaviour. When Libby returns, she is furious to learn that he threatened to smack Ben. Dan is equally shocked by the revelation that Libby does not seem to trust him with her son. Can the newlyweds find common ground?
Elsewhere, Declan is irritated to find that Andrew has become a fixture in his and Rebecca’s life. Feeling sidelined, Declan also suspects that his mum is not genuinely happy with the school principal. When Rebecca accepts Andrew’s invitation for them to move in with him, she struggles to find a way to tell her son. Paul, meanwhile, cannot contain his jealousy over Rebecca and Andrew’s engagement. He vows to print an article in the paper exposing a tragedy in Andrew’s past that could ruin his reputation...
Also this week, Steve pulls himself together and works hard to reassure Bridget that she is not to blame for his divorce from Miranda. Sick of Lucas flaunting his new romance, Elle makes up an imaginary boyfriend – with unexpected consequences. Tegan’s defiance and Simon’s mischief leads to a very public meltdown in the Freedman clan. And Bridget urges Ty not to give up on his music career.
