leah-mcfallIt looks like one of The Voice UK’s new protégés is already reaching the heights last year’s winner Leanne Mitchell could only dream of.

Current contestant Leah McFall has seen her latest performance ‘I Will Survive’ rise up the official iTunes chart following Friday’s quarter final.

The track reached number three on the iTunes chart, behind Naughty Boy’s ‘La La La’ and Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’.

Poirot actor David Suchet believes the iconic moustache is a “vital” part of getting into character for the TV series.

Only four episodes remain in the series, which has been running for a quarter of a century, and Suchet says the famous thin pencil moustache is one of the defining features of stepping into the role.

“It’s absolutely vital! It’s a real catalyst to me becoming the character now,” Suchet tells Radio Times. “

“As soon as the moustache goes on, I speak as him. It changes the flexibility of my top lip and it’s like a catalyst that, immediately, gets me into the little man. And the voice is so important to the human being. I don’t know whether you know this, but there is no such thing as two people with exactly the same voice.” Continue reading »

BGTeggsIt appears the notorious Britain’s Got Talent egg-hurler didn’t just ruin Simon Cowell’s suit jacket.

Finalists Richard and Adam believe that Natalie Holt – who interrupted their performance to hurl eggs at Cowell – ruined their chance to win.

The Welsh brothers believe their flow was ruined by the incident.

“She said she was protesting about music not being performed properly, but we were there singing our hearts out, performing live and she ruined it,” said Richard. Continue reading »

Neil also told Jones he was “the worst person I’ve ever interviewed”, while Jones continued to yell “No, you guys are crazy! Infowars dot com! Liberty is rising! Liberty is rising!”

GameofThronesSwordOne of the armorers for Game of Thrones says the weapons used on the series are not exactly your average safe rubber swords.

“Everything you see on the show is lethal,” says Fergus McNulty. “It’s not sharpened to within an inch of its life but the safety aspect is still something that has to be taken into account.

“It’s still an object that with enough force would harm somebody, so if you have 400 or 500 weapons at a time [in a scene] and there’s a massive crowd of people, you’re constantly staying focused and aware.” Continue reading »

Game of Thrones logoApparently, Game of Thrones fans have a sweaty TV writer on an exercise bike to thank for the show being greenlit in the first place.

HBO president Michael Lombardo has revealed the real reason why they decided to go ahead with commissioning Game of Thrones and it involves an impromptu meeting in a gym.

“We had this pilot script and we were budgeting it and scratching our head whether we should go ahead and greenlight this,” Lombardo recalls. “And we were trying to figure out the production challenges. We knew it had to be able to stand next to projects in this genre being done on the big screen yet with a more limited budget.”

One day, Lombardo escaped to a Santa Monica gym where he ran into TV writer Dan Weiss. Continue reading »
