It’s the battle of the hobs in a brand new cookery game show, hosted by Antony Worrall Thompson, where two of the UK’s top chefs battle it out across a week in a series of daily challenges to win the heart, mind and tastebuds of a different celebrity guest judge each day.
The chefs’ skills, experience and creativity will be pushed to the limits as they compete to complete three challenges that every cook at home faces regularly – cooking against the clock, cooking within a budget and trying to create an impressive meal with set ingredients.
Every day there’ll be a winner as the celebrity guest passes judgement on the finished dishes.
And, as the week progresses, both chefs will be battling to see who will emerge victorious from their week-long culinary duel.
Every day Anthony will be giving the celebrity guest a cookery masterclass, which could be anything from showing them how to cook their favourite dish, explaining why their soufflé sinks or teaching a few crafty tricks of the trade.
Anthony says: ”I’ve never been as excited about a show as I am about Daily Cooks Challenge. For me, it’s the perfect mix of mouth-watering recipes, truly talented chefs and entertaining celebrity guests. Every day, two chefs battle against each other facing three cookery challenges and at the same time, they’ve got to get the food right for the celebrity judge.
"It makes for great telly, especially when the judges are less than impressed. This is the kind of show I came to ITV to make and if our studio audiences’ reactions are anything to go by, the viewers are going to love it.”
The chefs competing in week one are John Burton-Race and Gino D’Acampo, and the celebrities passing judgement on them are Matt Dawson, Connie Fisher, Nancy Dell’Olio, Angela Griffinm, and Nicki Chapman.
The chefs competing in the series will be John Burton Race, Jean Christophe Novelli, Phil Vickery, Gino D’Acampo, Brian Turner, Ed Baines, Aldo Zilli and Merrilees Parker.
Celebrity guests include Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner, Corrie’s Sue Cleaver, singer-songwriter Cerys Matthews, actor and comedian Ben Miller, and former England and Chelsea footballer Graeme Le Saux.
Note: Daily Cooks airs weekdays at 2pm
