He also grows closer to Lana, who returns his feelings and even shares some badly needed information with him. Lex's brother Julian reveals himself to Lionel in an effort to clear the air between them.

Lana absorbs Clark's powers during a lightning storm. She uses the powers to break into Lex's safe and steal some incriminating evidence. After being turned away by Grant at the Daily Planet, who won't accept her stolen evidence, Lana goes after Lex herself. Clark tries to rescue Lex, but must first battle the super-powered Lana.

Kara goes to Washington to look for her missing crystal, but is captured after she breaks into the lab. She's interrogated with a memory-revealing serum that has kryptonite in it, which makes her relive a trip to Earth from the past. In this past trip she followed Lara, Clark's biological mother, to the Kents' farm.

The residents of Smallville are thrilled when a movie based on a comic book begins shooting in town. However, after the lead actress, Rachel Davenport (Christina Milian), drives off in a stunt car with cut brakes, Clark must step in to stop the runaway vehicle. Unfortunately, an obsessed fan witnesses this heroic act and decides that since Clark is a real-life superhero, his girlfriend, Lana, must be eliminated so Clark can fulfill his destiny. Meanwhile, Lex discovers Lionel at a remote cabin.

Kara takes to life in Smallville by entering the Miss Sweet Corn Pageant as a contestant, overruling Clark's objections. However, Lex takes an interest in Kara. And when three of the other contestants discover Kara has super-powers they try to use her skills to purloin a valuable time capsule.

BURBANK, CA (June 11, 2007) - Look, up in the sky: it's a bird, it's a plane! It's...Supergirl! This fall, Supergirl will be joining the lineup of burgeoning superheroes and villains in SMALLVILLE. Supergirl is the latest DC Comics character to join the series that has previously welcomed Martian Manhunter, The Green Arrow, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and Brainiac. Casting for the Supergirl role is currently underway. SMALLVILLE airs on Thursdays at 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.

On SMALLVILLE, the seventh season premiere kicks off with the arrival of Supergirl, whose name is Kara, as Clark's (Tom Welling) 19-year-old cousin. She was born on Krypton and is the daughter of Zor-El, Jor-El's brother. Kara possesses all of Clark's powers and one he doesn't yet have ?? she can fly! Kara also has a strong, rebellious streak that puts her at odds with Clark, and puts her onto Lex's (Michael Rosenbaum) radar. In addition, she takes a romantic interest in Jimmy Olsen (Aaron Ashmore).

"One of the joys of creating SMALLVILLE has been our ability to reinvent and reinterpret classic DC Comics characters," said SMALLVILLE executive producer Al Gough. "Miles and I believe that Supergirl will give our series the mythic jolt that it needs as we head into our seventh season."

Lynda Carter - known to personify Wonder Woman, will guest star on Smallville later this season in an episode called "Progeny".
