In this one-off special for ITV1, An Audience Without Jeremy Beadle takes a look back through the career of television’s top prankster and the iconic shows such as Game For a Laugh and Beadle’s About which made him one of the country’s most recognisable faces.

Filmed in front of an audience of celebrities including Henry Kelly, Robert Powell, Tony Blackburn, Janet Ellis, Jon Culshaw, and Gloria Hunniford plus members of Jeremy’s closest family, the show is hosted by Jeremy’s great friend Chris Tarrant and takes an irreverent and funny look at Jeremy’s career and life including the incredible and tireless charity work he modestly undertook.

Two Sirs talk about their close friend ‘Gentleman Jeremy’ - Sir Alan Sugar is in the studio revealing what went on behind the scenes when he and Jeremy were paired up on Celebrity Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Sir Terry Wogan looks back over the life and times of ‘Beadlebum’.

Tarrant catches up with some of the members of the general public who were at the receiving end of his most famous pranks. And viewers have the chance to see what has been voted as the all time favourite Beadle scams. Will it be the infamous alien landing in the poor victim Jane’s back garden, or maybe the frantic bride locked in her wedding car with the deaf vicar conducting the ceremony through the sun-roof?

GMTV’s Michael Underwood recreates one of Beadle’s most famous Game For A Laugh games with the help of Duncan Goodhew and Blue Peter’s Zoe Salmon.

Composer Laurie Holloway has the audience singing along to his theme tune Beadle’s About and Jeremy’s favourite magician Shahid Malik performs a stunning trick

And credited as the man who puts ‘fun’ into fund-raising, Anneka Rice presents a poignant and moving film about his extensive fund-raising and charity work especially that of Children With Leukaemia which has raised almost £100,000,000 to date largely to Jeremy’s involvement.

An Audience Without Jeremy Beadle is executive produced by John Kaye Cooper and Clive Doig, who worked with Jeremy on his first ever show, The Deceivers. Stephen Joel and Ian Cross will produce and Mick Thomas will direct.
