Five presents a second night of live UEFA Cup football this week as Tottenham play Slavia Prague at the Stadion Evzena Rosickeho in the Round of 32 –the first knockout stage of the competition. Five’s coverage is anchored by Colin Murray, while commentary comes from Dave Woods. Kick-off is at 20.00.

Tottenham resume their march towards UEFA Cup glory with a testing away fixture in the Czech Republic. It is has been a season of mixed fortunes for the club since the contentious appointment of manager Juande Ramos early in the campaign.

In the Premiership, Spurs have anchored themselves in mid-table with a string of solid results. Highlights so far include a 5-1 thrashing of Fulham followed by a goal-happy 6-4 result against Reading three days later –a match which saw Dimitar Berbatov chip in with four of his 13 goals this season.

Hopes that the long-delayed Tottenham revival may have arrived have been galvanised by a strong showing in the Carling Cup. Victories over Middlesbrough, Blackpool and Man City culminated in a superb 5-1 win against Arsenal to book a place in this season’s final. In the UEFA Cup, meanwhile, Spurs have carved out wins against Aalborg and Hapoel Tel-Aviv.

Slavia Prague join the competition in the Round of 32 after being knocked out of the Champion’s League in December. Having qualified for the group stage of Europe’s top strata for the first time
in their 116-year history, Slavia struggled to make much of an impression. They achieved a lone
victory at home to Steaua Bucharest before stumbling against Seville home and away, and losing 7-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Slavia are managed by one of their former players, Karel Jaroĺm, and are currently riding high at the top of the Czech Premier League, the Gambrinus Liga, five points clear of their closest rivals, Sparta Prague. They have lost just one of the 16 games played so far.

The Czech side will be looking to salvage some dignity in Europe with this tough home fixture against Spurs, before they travel to White Hart Lane for the second leg on February 21.
