Ad of the Year

Wednesday, 28 December 2011, 8:00PM – 9:00PM

This hour-long show for ITV1 this Christmas celebrates the best ads from our TV screens over the last 12 months – and reveals the fascinating stories behind them.

Last year it was Thinkbox’s Every Home Needs a Harvey – now it’s time to see what viewers have voted the best television ad seen on British TV in 2011.

As well as featuring the top 20 commercials themselves, we’ll hear from the people who wrote them, directed them or starred in them about their involvement and about what it is, in their opinion that made the ad such a hit.

It’s been another fantastic year for TV ads. We’ve had cats with thumbs, dancing clothes from Cadbury’s, a young Darth Vader using the Force and some great time-travelling ads from British Airways and John Lewis – but which will come out on top and win the coveted title of Ad of the Year 2011?

Ad of The Year is a Shiver production for ITV1, produced by Simon Paintin and executive produced by Mark Robinson.
