Hit docusoap Airline is back, following the staff and passengers of low-cost carrier easyJet. There are tears, tantrums and traumas from customers demonstrating the full range of complaining techniques. But amid the missed flights and flaring tempers, everything runs smoothly for some passengers who find their travels a pleasure rather than a chore.

Rugby fan Jackie Thomas should be travelling from Bristol to Belfast with a group of friends to watch the Welsh team, Llanelli Scarlets, play. Unfortunately Jackie appears to have overlooked the fact that one of her party has been married for 20 years, which proves to be a very expensive oversight.

While Jackie attempts to get her party to Belfast without taking out a second mortgage, travelling out of Belfast are some VIPs: Very Important Parcels. Responsible for their safe transportation are passengers Gilchrist, Kerr and Dowie, but they’re keeping the contents a closely guarded secret.

Something that’s anything but a secret is how the Lichtmann family feel about being told they were late for their flight to Madrid. The family claim they were at the desk on time and refuse to pay to transfer onto the next day’s flight. With neither the Lichtmanns nor manager Mary Hosier prepared to admit wrongdoing, an increasingly heated stand-off ensues.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the airport, supervisor Gilbert Machingauta has the unenviable task of informing a plane full of passengers that their flight, the last of the day to Berlin, has been cancelled. Having already missed one flight today and with only 46 pence left in her pocket, nineteen-year-old Sarah Bothieher is visibly distressed when faced with a further 24 hour wait.

It’s the football World Cup and an extremely busy time for easyJet as more than half a million people head off to Germany. Among the fans travelling from Luton are Americans Linda and Thom Emerson. Thom and Linda watched England win the World Cup in 1966 and, 40 years on, Thom says they intend to ‘party as much as 69 year olds party before a match’.

Bristol passenger Keith Taylor is in the process of checking in for his flight when he’s taken to one side by Supervisor Richard Oats. After witnessing Mr Taylor swaying in the check-in queue, Richard suspects that he may be too drunk to travel. However communicating this information to Mr Taylor proves difficult and he is less than happy with Richard’s decision.

Mr Pawlowski delivered his mother to Luton airport in good time to check in for her flight back to Krakow and headed home. However, shortly after leaving, he received a telephone call from his mother – the plane had left on time, but without her! He returns to the airport demanding an explanation!

While it’s business as usual for most easyJet staff, six members of the Luton check-in team are off to Germany for a charity football tournament. Sadly for them their hopes for a serious match are thwarted by a sudden rain storm and the tournament is cancelled. But despite the rain clouds, they’re determined to play!

The football theme continues with former Charlton Athletic manager, Alan Curbishley, boarding a plane from Stansted to Alicante to collect for easyJet’s ‘Charity of the Year 2006’ – The Anthony Nolan Trust.

EasyJet staff frequently have to make difficult decisions on whether or not passengers are eligible to board flights. However, for manager Machel Riley today’s decision shouldn’t be too hard. She is approached by a passenger acting very strangely who appears to be attempting to travel to Malaga using a piece of paper with Bristol to Barcelona written on it as a ticket!

Meanwhile events at Luton Airport mean a 25th wedding anniversary celebration in Paris has to be put on hold when a passenger arrives at the check in desk without her passport. The passenger is left in the capable hands of manager, Leo Jones, but he may be fighting a losing battle.

Back in Bristol and a week’s holiday to visit grandma and granddad looks set to be extended, when supervisor Richard Oats refuses to let children Kai and Annie Immerson travel home to Germany because they are too young to fly unaccompanied.

For Steve Milne the opening of a new route to Marrakech gives him the opportunity to take a journey he’s wanted to make for twenty years. But will he find what he is looking for?
