Alex Reid

Plus, Tulisa tries to go incognito at airport, and BBC won’t air Strictly at same time as X Factor!

We’ll begin today’s reality TV news round up with a report from the Daily Mirror which states that former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Alex Reid was arrested outside the home he formerly shared with another CBB star, Chantelle Houghton – who recently gave birth to the couple’s baby girl, Dolly – as he allegedly tried to break down the door.

Alex and Chantelle have of course had a very turbulent relationship that’s been spattered with break ups and make ups, but this is by far the most serious of the rows they’ve had to date.

The paper reports that Alex was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and using violence to secure entry after police attended the incident at 1.30am this morning.

A police spokesperson said, “Police were contacted just before 1.30am this morning with reports of a disturbance at a property in Brentwood.

“A 37-year old man from Brentwood was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and using violence to secure entry, and is currently in police custody.” Continue reading »

Former Celebrity Big Brother stars Alex Reid and Chantelle Houghton couldn’t say enough nice things about each other twelve months ago, however, it seems that their whirlwind romance has became rather more of a tornado than a whirlwind…

And after revealing how she was willing to do anything to have a baby with Alex – including being about to embark on IVF – she discovered she was pregnant, and again, the couple couldn’t have been happier.

However, in the last few months, the press has been full of stories about Chantelle’s jealousy over Alex’s ex-girlfriends, and constant rows about their being forced apart by work commitments.

And it seems that’s all come to a head and Alex has called off their engagement, according to The Sun.

A source close to cage fighter Alex said he’s been in “floods of tears” over the past month because he thinks Chantelle’s friends and family are “poking their noses” into their lives.

Alex told a friend, “I’ve told Chantelle I’m not marrying her when things are like this.

“Friends keep pushing her to say things about us that aren’t true and keep poking their noses into our lives no matter how much it hurts me.”

Their baby is due in just a few weeks.

In other news, Simon Cowell reportedly thinks mum’s the word when it comes to retaining his youthful looks, and according to his brother Tony, it is indeed their 80 year old mama Julie who taught Simon everything he knows about his skin care regimen.

Tony said, “He takes care of his skin – doesn’t want to get old. He learnt it from Mum.”

However, Tony says that there’s no truth to the rumours that Simon goes to any extreme lengths to stay looking young, such as colonic irrigations or “blood” therapies.

Or, presumably, drinking the blood of young virgins and/or goats.

But apropos of Simon, he is reportedly in talks with former X Factor judge – and former lover apparently – Dannii Minogue to return to the show this year.

The news comes after much speculation that Kelly Rowland won’t be back this year, thank goodness, and according to TV Biz, Dannii has been negotiating a return to X Factor UK for months.

An insider told the paper, “Simon has always been a fan of Dannii’s — and she is keen for a return to Britain after the end of her relationship with Kris.

“Re-joining The X Factor would be ideal.

“Producers are really keen to make it happen — and Dannii’s team feel it would be the perfect move.”

Well, I guess it would save Simon from any of those tedious lawsuits about the alleged affair going public!

Former Celebrity Big Brother winners Alex Reid and Chantelle Houghton have declared their love for each other in a “sickly-sweet” joint telly interview.

Here’s the story from The Sun…

The pair, who hooked up in May — four months after the cage fighter split from Katie Price — insisted their relationship was not a “showmance” during a loved-up appearance on This Morning.

When host Ruth Langsford asked them: “Are you in love?” they both exclaimed: “Yes!”

After Eamonn Holmes questioned whether their relationship was the real thing, Alex, 36, explained: “Love has many degrees. This feels real. This feels relaxed.

“And I don’t want to compare anything to anybody else. But this is new, this feels right, right now.

“I was very nervous when I first met Chantelle not to go straight in because my heart was still a bit broken back then, but she’s mended it.”

And Chantelle, 27, was just as enthusiastic about her new beau.

When asked what she loved about Alex, she gushed: “I always call him the hurricane. When he walks in he lights up the room and makes everyone feel good about themselves and I haven’t felt good about myself in a long time.

“I’ve got a lot going on personally but Alex has been amazing. He makes me feel so secure and happy. He’s made me feel complete.”

She insisted she didn’t care if critics thought their pairing was a PR stunt, adding: “I don’t care what they say. As long as you’re happy that’s what matters.”

And the smitten couple – who held hands throughout the interview – revealed that they’ve already met each other’s parents.

They also said that despite their previous failed marriages they would wed again.

Alex added: “We talked about this. We are both sad because it was something that was so special. For me, that was for better for worse but you’ve got to move on.”

Earlier this morning Alex appeared alone on Lorraine and announced he was in love with Chantelle after describing her as a “friend with benefits”.

He told presenter Kate Garraway: “I’ve just met the most fantastic lovely lady – Sergeant Major Lace I call her, Chantilly Lace with a pretty face.”

And asked if the relationship was a ‘showmance’, he said: “Well yes, she’s a friend with benefits”, before adding: “I love her. Oh my God I’ve just said that on national TV.”

The cross dresser went on: “It’s an exciting time. I’ve just got – it’s a bit dappy, but I’ve just bought a brand new car and I feel very proud, isn’t that silly?

“And I’ve got a fantastic girlfriend and I’ve got really good projects going on. I’ve got my gym franchise which I’ve just started, The Alex Reid Academy, which is great and it’s all about me getting out there and changing people’s lives, and that’s one of the reasons why I’m fighting on Saturday.”

And despite his break-up with Katie, 33, Alex said their romance had “brought lovely gifts”.

Talking about their relationship, he said: “Listen, I had a wonderful life before Miss Price and I’ve got a fantastic life now.

“And undoubtedly who I am – I’m always asked questions about Katie – I don’t want to talk about her.”

He added: “I didn’t know quite what I was expecting when I got into that, but hey, it brought lovely gifts. It closed many doors but it opened many doors.”

Former Big Brother champ Chantelle Houghton has said she thinks Katie Price is “spiteful” for telling her ex-husband Alex Reid that she never loved him.

Here’s the story from STV…

The Celebrity Big Brother star is currently dating fellow reality star Alex.

She insisted that she would never help the cage-fighter in the same way.

Houghton told Now magazine: “Why say something like that? It’s just spiteful. “I would never be like that with Alex.”

The 27-year-old divorced Ordinary Boy singer Samuel Preston in June 2007.

She admitted that she would have been heartbroken if the singer had said the same thing about her.

Chantelle said: “If Preston had said he never loved me, I’d have been devastated.

“Obviously Alex did love Katie. You wouldn’t marry someone if you didn’t love them. It’s hurtful. Why say it at all?”

The Sun today report that things seem to be hotting up between former Big Brother stars Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid.

Here’s the report…

The pair were all over each other at the cage fighter’s 36th birthday celebrations.

Big Brother star Chantelle, 27, put her arms around Alex and pulled him towards her for a kiss after attending the Wam Bam Club burlesque show at London’s Café de Paris on Saturday night.

And it was no wonder he was happy to let the blonde, who looked racy in glitzy black trousers with silver embellishments and sheer panels, pounce on him all night.

She was still puckering up to him as they left the venue looking a little worse for wear, although Alex’s jokey expression suggested he didn’t mind a bit.

Chantelle, who used to be married to Ordinary Boys star Preston, also flashed a chunky ring on her engagement finger — sparking speculation their relationship is more serious than their critics first thought.

Their romance was dubbed a “showmance” when they first got together in May, just four months after Alex was ditched by ex-wife Katie Price.

After their night out Alex told his fans on Twitter: “Wicked evening @WamBamClub Cafe de Paris, celebrating my birthday with @chantellehought thanks 4all my pressies.”

This week Chantelle praised Alex for sticking by her after doctors told her she was infertile.

She said her chances of conceiving naturally are virtually non-existent as a result of her eating disorders.

After revealing in heat last week that she might never be a mum, Chantelle Houghton says she’s still determined to have kids.

Last week Chantelle Houghton told heat magazine that as a result of years of bulimia and dieting, it is now almost impossible for her to have a child naturally.

She also revealed that if she is ever to be a mum, she’ll need IVF – and it must be done within the next three years.

This week, in Part Two of the heartbreaking interview with Chantelle, the 27-year-old reveals that she is so determined to have a baby she’ll do whatever it takes.

She also divulges how this news has affected her very new relationship with Alex Reid.

She says: “I feel numb, and like I can’t relax until I have children. The cruel irony is that I’ve been on the Pill for years and years.

“I’m still coming to terms with it and Alex is, too, but he says he’ll support me. Time is ticking and it feels as though the walls are closing in.

“There are only three years left on my body clock.”

Asked if she’s prepared to become a mum in the next three years, she answered, “Yes. I’m not prepared to live my life without having children, so I need to work out the next step.

“You take having kids for granted, and it’s not until you’re told you can’t [have them] that you realise how important it is.”

“It’s hard for me and it’s hard for Alex. But I don’t want to do this alone. I don’t want to use a sperm donor.

“When I was told the results, I had to go and see a counsellor. She sat and cried with me.

“I asked her if she saw a lot of girls of my age in my situation and she said, “Would it help if I answered that?” Which obviously meant no.”

Speaking about Alex, she gushed: “He is sensitive, kind and thoughtful. He’s a gentle giant, kind-hearted and lovely – especially over this. He hasn’t run away. That says a lot about him.”

heat magazine is on sale now (Tuesday).

STV today report that Celebrity Big Brother winner Alex Reid has revealed that even Katie Price’s friend advised him not to marry her.

The couple got married in Las Vegas in February 2010 and separated after only 11 months later.

Here’s the rest of STV’s report…

After Katie dumped Alex, she very quickly moved on to new boyfriend Leandro Penna. Alex told Now magazine: “Everyone – I mean, everyone – warned me against marrying her.

“Even Katie’s closest friends told me not to do it.”

Reid had admitted that he was “blindly in love” with Katie and would love to woo her back. However, he admits that he now understands how Price’s former husband Peter Andre felt during his marriage to the glamour model.

Andre admitted when after their marriage failed that he got fed up of her alter-ego Jordan.

Alex said: “I didn’t see it at the time, but now I do.

“I now understand what Pete was talking about when he said he loved Katie, but not Jordan.”

Former Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton has told The Sun that she’s “not scared” of allowing herself to fall for fellow former BB star Alex Reid. Here’s the story…

CELEBRITY Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton has said she’s not scared of falling for Alex Reid.

The reality star said she was enjoying her relationship with Katie Price’s ex — and admitted dating Crimewatch host Rav Wilding was a mistake.

The 27-year-old Essex girl split from 33-year-old Rav in April after six months. And now Chantelle has stripped off for a 50s-style beachwear photoshoot and said she’s not scared of things getting serious with cage fighter Alex.

Chantelle told new! magazine: “It’s still very early days. We’ve not said that word yet. But I’m definitely not scared of falling in love again.”

Describing muscular Alex as “breathtaking” she admitted her relationship with the fellow Celebrity Big Brother star made her feel “protected”.

Despite getting together with Alex soon after her disastrous break-up, she said it wasn’t a rebound relationship. She explained: “Some people say there was hardly any time between Alex and Rav.

But what should I do? “Say, ‘I really like this guy,’ but sit there and stick my head in the sand for six months because I’ve just come out of a relationship, or do I go for it?”

Bubbly Chantelle added: “We’ve got a lot in common. We both won Celebrity Big Brother, we’ve both met someone and fallen in love quickly, got married quickly — and ended it quickly.

“There’s so many similarities. It’s easy. We’re always laughing and joking. We enjoy spending time together and I look forward to seeing him.”

But the pair won’t be rushing into anything and are only meeting up every couple of days.

Chantelle added: “We’ve both learned from previous relationships — I met Preston and, bang, I was with him.

“He met Kate and, bang, he was with her. We’ve learned not to rush into things. “I’m not worried about falling in love. If I get my heart broken, then I will.”

Despite being a big burly martial artist, Chantelle said there was a sensitive side to her new beau. She said: “People think he’s just a cage fighter, but he’s really sensitive. He’s really caring and goes out of his way to help people. He gets the door, he’s a gentleman.”

And Chantelle said the best thing about her new man was that, unlike Rav, he doesn’t get jealous. She said: “There’s no jealousy — Alex gets that I’ve been married before. Rav couldn’t accept it. He was jealous.”

Chantelle said that she and former cop Rav would frequently row about her marriage to Preston, which ended in divorce in November 2007.

Chantelle said: “I did a wedding-dress shoot after Kate Middleton got engaged and he hit the roof. I was apologising for being married and I didn’t want to. I wouldn’t change anything and don’t regret [Preston].”

The pair were snapped having a furious row in Richmond Park, South West London, just before the break up, and Chantelle explained it was over the nude PETA shoot she had been offered.

She added: “He went mental because we couldn’t go on holiday and I wanted to do the shoot.

“We didn’t speak all week after that. He wrote my mum a letter begging her to help him, saying he didn’t want me to do the PETA thing.”

She added: “It’s a shame it ended in the way it did, but I’m glad I’m out of it.”

The full interview is in new! magazine out today.

The Sun today carries an interview with former Celebrity Big Brother winner Alex Reid who told the paper that he loves being with fellow ex-BB contestant Chantelle Houghton because she’s “feminine” and “a real lady”.

Here’s the article in full…

ALEX Reid has stuck the knife into Katie Price – by saying he is with a “real lady” now he’s dating Chantelle Houghton.

The retired cage fighter made the jibe as he opened up about his relationship with Chantelle, 27, for the first time. Alex – who was dumped by Katie in January after 11 months of marriage – told new! magazine: “The great thing about her is that she’s so feminine, a real lady. It’s nice to be with someone who’s a real lady. Is that a little dig?

“She really is just so sweet, so girly. I’m cheeky. I’m like a little kid and I play around, [I make] little bum jokes. I tone that down a bit. She’s not a prude, she’ll find it funny, but I want to be a gentleman.

“There’s no pretences, so that’s great. We both know where we stand. We both said, ‘Let’s just enjoy it and have a bit of fun.’ We both did the rebound joke. We’re reboundinators!

“There’s instant parables. Parallels? We both did Celebrity Big Brother, we both won it. Then we married someone!”

And he hit back at the romance because dubbed fake by critics, and added: “It’s definitely not a rebound. I did joke to her that we were rebound lovers. But a showmance? Come on.”

But he admitted that it felt like a “knife to his heart” when Katie said she’d never loved him in an interview last week.

Alex, 35, added: “She says we’re still friends, but a friend wouldn’t say something like that.”

But he said he’ll always have a soft spot for the 33-year-old glamour girl.

He explained: “I’m deeply sad it didn’t work out [with Katie]. I was devastated. But now I can actually smile about it and think,

‘Thank you very much.’ Big learning curve.

“She’ll always have a special place in my heart. I would have given my life for her. I am a romantic for better or for worse, so yeah, that hurts. I wish it had worked out. It’s sad because I was fighting the whole way to save it. It wasn’t my choice [to split].”

And Alex confessed that he was hooked on watching her reality show. He added: “I did watch it, yeah. If it was on and I was in it I’d watch it. Who wouldn’t? It’s like a drug addiction.”
