Bad Girls

The British female prison drama Bad Girls will be on the airwaves in America but the shows saucy and controversial content will be softened a little. The show was an underground success in the U.S. on DVD and cable, but in advance of the new season coming up on cable channel FX for 2008, the series will be broadcast in the States but lacking lesbian overtones and most controversial subject matter. Will it still be the same show we know here in the UK??

Five Life has acquired the multi-channel rights to two of Britain’s most popular dramas, Bad Girls and Footballers’ Wives from Shed Productions, it was announced today.

Bad Girls, is set in the fictional women’s prison Larkhall and features serious and lighthearted storylines focusing on the prisoners and staff of G Wing. The drama, previously show on ITV, has been awarded two National Television awards for Most Popular Drama. Series four of the prison drama will transmit this spring.

Footballers’ Wives, follows the sexy and scandalous lives of the fictional Earls Park Football Club players and their wives. Series one will transmit on Five Life in the Spring.
