David Hasselhoff has signed on to reprise his role on US soap The Young and the Restless.

The 57-year-old actor, best known for his beachside gallivanting on Baywatch, will return to the daytime soap in his role of Dr William ‘Snapper’ Foster.

He will feature for a week-long arc alongside his daughter Taylor Ann who is making her acting debut on the soap.

“I was so honoured to be asked back by the Bell family for a short visit to Genoa City, this time with my daughter Taylor Ann,” said Hasselhoff.

“It was surreal and felt like I never left.”

It has been nearly three decades since Hasselhoff last appeared on the soap, after featuring from 1975 to 1982.
